Gothamfic: indexing all the fics focusing on Gotham in the DCU fandom.
I'm putting together an index of Gotham fics.
Every single piece of Gotham fic.
I do this because I love Gotham and may be just a little insane.
What I'm looking for:
Of course these categories aren't hard and fast; they're just here to help have a vague idea of what is 'Gotham fic'.
1. fics focusing on Gotham; the city as a character. (This is the category of: Gotham is terrifying.)
Examples: 1_900_mimicry's Hers, glossing's Mettlesome, mad, extravagant city.
2. fics focusing on ordinary Gothamites; what makes Gotham special, from their point of view; how Gotham has shaped them. Minor characters are okay, so are OCs.
Examples: katarik's Spirits in the Material World, __marcelo's Between the walls, inlovewithnight's Scar Tissue.
3. fics focusing on daily life in Gotham; routine in Gotham.
Examples: rubynye's Rooftop World, victoria_wayne's Overnight Shift.
4. fics about Gotham from an outsider's point of view.
Examples: picking_apples's Lullaby, scarab_dynasty's Gothamites.
What the gothamfic project isn't about:
Fics about the Bats. While they're a major part of Gotham, I'm looking for the fics that show Gotham as more than the stage for the Batclan's adventures. Generally speaking, the presence of Bats in the fic is okay if they/their issues don't take over. (Though any fic focusing on Alfred interacting in any way at all with someone from out of the Manor should probably be included on principle. The principle being that Alfred = awesome.)
I'm looking for the fics that focus on the stage, on the background characters, on the spectators, and where the Bats are only used as a backdrop for the real character: Gotham.
