Title: Ladylike
Character: Bruce
Rating: G
Summary: When he looks at himself in the mirror, he sees a lady in her early forties.
Notes: for the Never Have I Ever Written meme.

When he looks at himself in the mirror, he sees a lady in her early forties. She looks like his mother's older sister. It's a sudden, painful, drawn-out jolt to know again that he's older now than she ever lived. She has lines on her brow and around her lips, not the lines of laughter but those of tension.

His hair has grown in the transformation, reaching his shoulders in gentle curls; he's posited and Zatanna confirmed that it was a variant of the spell, not something that can be explained by a simple chromosome switch. Tentatively, he brushes, counting the strokes until the lady's hair are as soft and glossy as silk, that he then arranges to match the portrait above the mantelpiece. It's more than thirty years out of style, but retro is coming back in fashion.

Applying make-up is easier; he's had more practice at it.

When he's satisfied with his mirror image, Bruce rings Alfred for the pearls.
