My brother just declared himself a tree-hugger, and my dad admonished him for the gory comment. (This on the occasion of stringing the tree lights, not a political dispute.)
I saw LOTR yesterday. I am not depressed! It was in fact very good. I'll elaborate later. Probably after the first of the year, when I see it for the second time in the theater (it's tradition) and am hopefully a less rude audience member.
