We went to the zoo today with my parents and wow, was that exhausting. And we didn't even see the whole thing! The girls take one nap a day now, usually from 12-3. Having that three hour break in the middle of the day is awesome, but it means our big outings have to be in the morning. Nothing like being utterly exhausted and it's not even 1:00pm. Even better, the girls didn't go back to sleep when we got back to our house. I've transferred them from car to crib before and they are back asleep wtihin seconds. Not this time. I finally got them out of their cribs at 2:30, but that left a long afternoon ahead of us. Even though the weather was bordering on crappy, we bopped between inside and outside. Anything for a change of scenery. I was going to blow up the second part to their pool, since it's supposed to be 90's the next two days, but again with the exhausted. They don't even really get the pool anyway, so why bother right?
Random things from the last week that I've been meaning to post:
* I golfed on Tuesday with Sarah and man, I love those golf days. Those ladies who lunch are such good golfers, it's crazy. I love that course, I love the lunch after, and it's always so great spending the day with her.
* After I went to the spa. Juut does the spa right! Awesome facial, good pedicure, all very relaxing. Best of all, no one tried to talk to me mid treatment. I hate that. Everyone respected the quiet.
* Two neighbor girls *really* want to babysit Caden & Delaney. They even printed out a flyer and brought it over to me. The problem is they are 12 years old. Their older sisters babysit for me now, but they want in very badly. I'm not sure even what the etiquette for this is. I hate to take jobs from their sisters since they do a great job for me, but I also want to give the little girls a chance. I've kind of decided that if it's going to be an early night, I'll let the young ones try out. I just wouldn't be comfortable having them be alone at my house past 10:00 or so.
* Summer tv. I hate the new lady cop on Burn Notice. She's trying too hard to be a bad ass and come on, we all know Michael Weston is a good guy. HawthoRNe was horrible. Cliched characters and forced acting. Was Michael Vartan always a wooden actor and I just never noticed? I do however, love Royal Pains. Love. I also love not feeling like my dvr is overflowing.
Work is sucking right now and will continue to suck for at least the next week until we go into production and hopefully, things smooth out. Also, I think I'm booting a guy off my project on Monday. Don't piss off the project manager. When will they learn?
