Snorky and Schwippett
So today was Harrington and Eleanors' long awaited and anticipated appointment with the vet. I made sure I gave both the dogs a well needed bath and facial grooming - and with a bit more practice, I'll be doing just as good a grooming as any pet groomer!
Harry now weighs a whopping 7.1 lbs, and received his rabies vaccine and distemper. Eleanor, on the other hand, had both of her ears checked (she rubs them alot)only to find out that they found a yeast infection in both ears due to the hairs growing inside of her floppy ears. Elle was due for her distemper too, but the vet decided it wasn't in her best interest to get one now. Why?!?
BECAUSE SHE IS PREGNANT!!!! and they don't give them to mommas when they're in the family way!!!
I am soooo thrilled about the news! OMG, she even got weighed and they found her to be a full 15.3 lbs!! Holy crap that's alot for a Yorkshire Terrier! NOW, I have to wait another two weeks before they can tell me just how many she is carrying in there. Imagine my wait..........
The girl there told me that they do tail docking, and that it must be done no later than two days after they are born. We also got a blood test while we were there, because she might also need some more calcium in her diet, and even though the doctor told me to add puppy food to her diet now - she still might need some additional nutrients on top of that.
So there it is, Ellie's gonna be a momma!
