(no subject)
I should be busier, but I'm procrastinating in an awful way. Work is actually relatively light right now. The reason I should be busy is... I'm going to be taking a vacation soon! And it's busy because I'm going to be traveling abroad and I need to make sure I have everything packed and all that stuff. I'm not leaving until Saturday, but you know, with all the international stuff you want to make sure you don't forget anything important. And as it turns out I still need to run to the store and get a voltage converter or two.
I know a lot of you guys on my friends list have gone to, are currently there, or possibly even never ever leaving Japan, but for me the country I've been wanting to go to for a long time has been Germany. So I'm finally going.
I will be attending the Carl Duisberg Training Center in Cologne in a two-week language immersion program. I can't give up my job and go off to live in another country for ages and a day, but I figure two weeks should be long enough for me to get a feel for living in another city in another country. I'll be going to school in the mornings and into the early afternoon and there are supposed to be after school activities for all the students (since everyone at the center is there to learn German as a foreign language). I've also been set up with a host family, so it might be something like those exchange programs in high school that I never got to go on. :)
The only icing on the cake would be if all my projects at work would wrap up in time for me to go, and they probably won't. ^^;; In fact, I might need to ask my supervisor if I can take off a day early just to make sure I get everything packed in time. My flight's Saturday morning so I really got to make sure everything is set to go Friday night.
