Character: Euram Barows
Series: Suikoden V
Character Age: 20
Canon: Suikoden V is set in the Queendom of Falena, a prosperous land ruled by a matriarchy. In IS 449 war was beginning: Long-term tension for power between the various aristocratic families that comprised the Falenan senate catalysed a coup d'etat of the Falenan royal family. Euram Barows is the heir to one of the major aristocratic factions; he is introduced as a major albeit somewhat pathetic antagonist.
The epitome of foppishness, Euram is a egocentric lout that dreams only of spending time with beautiful princesses. Incompetent at best, he is prone to self-centered rambling and immature fixations. He is infatuated with Princess Lymsleia, sister of the Prince (the hero of SuikoV), and is oblivious to her disgust in regards to his affections. His less-than-noble deeds are only fueled by childish jealousies, produced by a sheltered, privileged life as an aristocrat. Euram eventually admits his mistakes and recognises the immorality of his family's struggle to dominate the senate by the end of SuikoV. He then proudly supports the new Queendom of Falena with a temporary determination to understand others who are not himself.
Dearest ♥ Lymsleia ♥ and most honourable township of Sea Flood,
You shouldn't mind that I've omitted the "Princess" from my address; it only means that you have endeared yourself to me even further in such a short time! I am bold, my darling, and you shall soon see exactly how daring I can be! I, Euram Barows, have sacrificed the warmth and comfort of our home country, our beautiful Queendom of Falena (which you have so graciously governed prior to your absence) to spend time here, in this makeshift gaol, this place that is unfortunately named "Sea Flood," in order to secure your release for the good of our country and my ~heart~!
So please, my love, wait for me patiently in the cruel grasp of that despicable director, she who so boldly appropriates the title of an honoured female leader, assailing your name and the names of all of Falena's Queens, now and forever-- how dare she! Ahem! I, who understand your suffering completely, beseech you to wait for the H.M.F.S. Euram to dock on your shores and come to your aid!
I will be your harbour, in the caterwauling tempest! Do not worry, for my ship docking skills are second-to-none; I will not miss my mark!
Oh, and how many other things I will be once we are reunited...! And dare I say it, united as one! No, my princess--! You need not fear that I have let myself go astray, towards, say, that other princess over there-- no, you remain mistress of my affections! Only you have true monopoly over my heart!
--A message? For me? Ah, no doubt a note of welcome. Rather unncessary, as I don't intend to take advantage of your ... hospitality. --Unless you yourself, insist, Princess! I shall overcome every mountain, endure every storm to be by your side! But I must say, remaining here is a terrible decision for my complexion as well as yours.
Hmm...
"Your submission is inappropriately addressed to Lymsleia. Please revise the context to include more of the camp population."
What's this? An assault upon our love? How-- how dare you! And to take her name in such-- such a common manner! Oh, you shall be ever so glad to know that I have promised not to spite such uncivilised cretins such as you, or you would be unable to hear me swear so! I-- hmph! Very well. I shall... enumerate more of my experiences with the surroundings, I suppose. As a sign of my utter determination to stay by the Princess's side! I will even reveal the most private of my private places!
Toucans, your uncannily attractive screeching will not distract me! Unsightly-shaded apes, you shall not lead my affections astray with your oddly alluring ear follicles! Lady Marcy-- as you are a lady, as I discovered last night-- I shall not let our... rendezvous shatter my resolve to preserve myself for the Princess!
As they say, the back door isn't officially an entrance.
Aha! I see you are overcome by my honesty. Well, my disgrace is a small price to pay to be by the side of such majesty! Princess, your white knight, Euram Barows, has gracefully, ever-so-gallantly come~! ♥♥♥
