I went on an outing to an eclectic assortment of places today with my little brother and dad. It started out when we were doing some work on the car we're restoring and needed a better jack to lift the car up. (I feel kind of bad saying "we" since it's mostly my brother and dad, and then mostly my dad, who does the work. XD; My knowledge of cars is unfortunately limited. orz) We decided to go to an auto store to get one that lifted the car high enough (as the one we had was too short). While we were at it, my dad figured he'd go out and browse a gun shop for a firearm to buy to defend the house with. Then we decided to get some pizza, and while that was being made at the pizzeria, we went to peruse Borders' closing sale. I wanted to write a little about each excursion. XD
First off we went to the gun shop, which was amusingly enough located right above a fishing retailer and between them both they also sold archery equipment. This is when I got the sudden urge to play an MMO or some other RPG, because I kind of felt like I was in one, in a weapons shop. XD; (And many MMOs have fishing... or at least, one I know does.) My initial idea for this post was to ask the question of what RPGs out there let you participate in more classes than just mage, warrior, and archer. I mean... a lot of the MMOs I found tend to have mainly these three classes, but the few times I manage to find things set in an RPG world, they have a wide variety of other classes, like "gunner", or the person who likes to use explosives, and other stuff that I can't remember right now. I always like the mage class best, and then after that comes archer, and like I said those are in most, but still... XD; Anyway, back to the gun shop; I saw someone I used to be in Girlscouts with there. I did not expect to see her there. At all. I think she was getting fishing supplies though. XD; And they had some interesting things there. Everyone on the second floor was carrying a gun. D: Everyone. I've barely ever seen a gun, and here there were so many everywhere... Lol, that's about when I started wanting to play an RPG... XD; Hmm... I think I'll get Oblivion or Morrowind sometime soon... Also, a game called Terraria I was watching some videos for seemed to have lots of stuff to do like that, even though I don't think it's in the RPG genre of games. (It seems to be like if Minecraft met an RPG though.)
After that, we went to the auto store. There actually wasn't too much to note about it besides the fact that upon entering the store, the outside smelled like maple syrup and the inside smelled like something decidedly not maple syrup. And then after we found a jack and bought it and left, the outside no longer smelled of syrup, but smelled like something that, just like when I entered the store, made me automatically want to hold my breath. ^^;
We then called a local pizzeria and ordered some stuffed pizza, which we found out wouldn't be done for about 45 minutes. We were probably about 5-10 minutes away from the place. XD; We figured we might as well head over to the Borders, which is going out of business apparently (which I'm really, very disappointed about). They have a pretty good sale going on for everything there. D: I ended up buying a book I couldn't afford the last time I went (I had to choose between it and another interesting book about regionalisms, and I chose the latter), and a tarot deck. Believe what you want about all that stuff, I like it and find it interesting. In any case, there was one more regular, simple and plain looking deck left and I figured I should get it since I don't know anywhere else I could get something like that that doesn't involve shipping fees. XD; A friend of mine was given one to her by her uncle, and it looked pretty fun to use. :) Well, she tried it and got a card which predicted that she would have an awesome day (as she decided its meaning would be), and she said she did. :D
Lastly, the pizza; it was absolutely, positively delicious. -q- Stuffed pizza is always good. ;Db
A quick side-note: Sorry if I made any grammatical mistakes that might've annoyed anyone. XD I'm experimenting a bit with the usage of semi-colons, colons, hyphens, and dashes. ^_^ I am not a perfect English-writing machine, so I do make mistakes in the posts I make. If ever you spot something you know is wrong, feel free to let me know! XD
