POGs
and i thought that POGs went out of style in 5th grade...
thats rite, i be interning at TARGET! up in minneapolis! ive been workin on my minnesoooootan accent, and its coming along nicely, eh?
the project theyve got me on is pretty sweet. im in the merch. presentation dept. they work with the buyers to determine the best ways to present the product on the shelf, the best ways to layout the store, etc. not so much artsy/design driven... more supply chain, inventory, case pack, driven... if you will.
but anywho, im working on maximizing the space they have here at HQ to devote to "fake store" space. thats rite, they actually place just about everything you see at target on shelving runs and analyze it for months! and they call 'em planograms, or POGs, because we dont have time to say plan-o-grams. there are literally thousands of people devoted to this! TARGET-ing you! the TARGET guest! thats rite, wal-mart has customers, target has guests! :)
anywho, im kicking butt here and getting to mess around with stuff thats coming out 6-12+ months out. some of its pretty sweet. id tell you what it is, but id have to eat your favorite ice cream. and then kill you!... ya knooo?
