thanksgiving

I'm thankful for a lot of things. Mostly my family. But absolutely the grace of God. I'm thankful for His faithfulness, for His abiding presence, for His mercy, especially over the past year but also over the course of my entire life.

I've pretty much convinced my mom of my need to go to Russia for the entire year. I'm excited now, too. There aren't many things that excite me as much as the thought of that, scary as it sounds.

Thanksgiving break has been wonderful. Monday and Tuesday I skipped classes, so I came home Sunday and then I got sick. My sisters were still in school so I pretty much just slept in and watched movies all day for thsoe two days. Wednesday my whole family went up to Concord Mills in Charlotte and I got some new clothes, which I really needed. :-p Yesterday we had our neighbors over and then I went over to Lauren's and my mom and Dayna and me and her whole family went to see Pride and Prejudice. It was so good. It wasn't exactly like the book, but then again they only had two hours. I was disappointed that my favorite quote, "You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you," wasn't there. And they really could have put it, because they put something almost like it but not quite. He said "You have bewitched me body and soul" and then he says "I love you, I love you, I love you" and then almost as an afterthought says, "Most ardently." So they definitely got their inspiration from the book, but why they didn't just use that quote I have no idea.

I worked today and I'm working tomorrow. It was good. I'm going to miss Ian and Annika when the semester starts. Part of me wants to keep working, because now I'm not so sure I need to take 19 hours, but then I don't know. It will be nice not to have to drive all the way during the week.

I haven't done any homework yet, and I have a good bit. I think I'm going to work on that this afternoon. Hopefully I can get my psychology paper written and get a good start on my assignment for Chinese history. Then I might pop in a movie and work on notecards. What a fun day.
