Why, hello!

It seems I've become really awful at updating this thing. Alas. But I suppose it's because that my life just got waaayyy busier these last few weeks.

Of first importance, I have a job! And not only a job, the best job ever. I'm a Team Leader for a tutoring program called America Reads. Team Leader means that I'm in charge of coordinating the tutors for one of the schools we serve. I check their lesson plans and observe them in the classroom every week. I get to run meetings. I communicate with the directors of the program. It's very much like stage managing, but instead of actors I have tutors. I'm WAY excited, and I know it's going to be so much fun. I'm still looking for a second job though, since this one is very part-time.

I started my classes on Tuesday. However, I also managed to come down with a wicked sinus infection, so a lot of the information given out this past week has gone in one ear and out the other. So I've got a bit of catching up to do over the next few days. Not too fun, but not the worst situation in the world.

Also thanks to Mr. Sinus Infection, I don't think I'm going to be able to run the Detroit Half Marathon. I had planned on doing an 8 week training plan, which was risky enough as it was since I wasn't training much all summer. Now, I'm only going to be fully well enough to train with about 5 weeks to go. So no Detroit Half this year. =( I'll for sure be doing the 5K again though, with the added bonuses of getting to do it with Kate, and also the fact that the 5Kers get technical shirts this year as well! I know it will be a big letdown when I get to the Expo....but hey, what can I do? Hopefully find a good Half to run mid-November, I guess. (aka, let me know if you know about one!)

For now, I'm going to go to bed, as I am at home and have to drive back to school tomorrow morning to continue the job hunt.....
