Notes: My friends! I am not dead, but I am not well either! It feels good to write about these two again, but I really wish that I had more… everything to dedicate towards them. I can't wait for this month to just be over.

A hand fell against his shoulder. He glanced up and saw the blonde staring down at him. She smiled to one side and looked down to the bowl in his hands.

“Got yourself some ice cream?”

“I needed it,” he stated, mouth somewhat full.

He cut his spoon through the ice cream and waffle before placing the morsel in his mouth. The blonde sat down beside him and let her legs dangle over the edge. She stared out towards the horizon before glancing over to her friend.

“Can I try some?”

“You like funnel cake?”

She shook her head, shrugging. “I've never had it.”

Almost instantly, he shoved the bowl towards her. “Here.”

“Hey! Don't drop it.” She laughed anyway, cupping her hands around it.

He licked his thumb and index finger clean as he chewed what was in his mouth. He stared out towards the horizon as well. The sun was a red orbit, and the sky was red-orange and purple. It was pretty. Just behind them, the stars were already starting to freckle the sky. The blonde placed the spoon in her mouth and hummed in content. The brunet looked over towards her.

“This is really good!” she stated, getting ready to hand it back to him.

He waved his hand. “You can have it if you want.”

“Seriously!?”

“That's, like, my third bowl.”

“Wow, what a pig,” she mumbled, licking the concave of the spoon.

She turned her head towards the right, looking back towards the quiet businesses at the end of the bridge. The brunet sighed out loudly, both raising and shoulders slumping with the exhale. He pressed his lips together.

“Everything alright?” she asked softly after a few moments, her gaze set on the bowl.

“Just enjoying the scenery.”

“Yeah.” She lifted up her head, lowering the spoon for a moment. “I can't blame you.”

He pulled out his phone and stared at the home screen.

“Time?” The question came out slowly.

“8:15.”

“Hm. Let's go back… never.”

He laughed, a sudden and rich sound. “Yeah. That sounds like a plan.”

She gave a single nod and took the last bit of funnel cake and ice cream on the spoon. She chewed it happily, sighing through her nose in content. He leaned back, bracing his weight with his hands. This was a beautiful sight, and no one was there to disturb them.

Good food, good view, good company - there wasn't much else they could ask for.
