"It's boring today" Those were the words that came out of Caesar's mouth at lunch time. Phoenix and the rest of the group couldn't help but agree with him. Usually school was full of activities happening here and there but today it was just a bland day of classes. Not ideal for a group of teenagers, so Mickey, being the instigator smiled and said while chewing on a straw, "Let's make it interesting then." Phoenix frowned, knowing that her best friend was thinking up something outrageous. "Like what?" She asked in caution.
"Truth or Dare."
Joey, Jade, Rory and Caesar perked up immediately at the suggestion and Jade said, "I'm game. Anything to fix this boredom."
"Same here." Rory said, but Phoenix pointed at Mickey. "I'm staying clear! Your dares are ridiculous, Michaela."
Mickey tried to look angelic, but with her wild pink and zebra print outfit, pink streaked hair and a piercing in her nose it had the opposite effect. "What do you mean? No, they're not!"
"Uh, yeah! Your last one got Caesar in trouble with the principal!"
Caesar thought for a moment and then laughed. "Oh yeah! But that shit was fucking funny!"
Phoenix fixed him with a glare and he kept quiet but Mickey wasn't about to give up. "Come on. They're not that bad."
"Prove it."
"Pick Truth or Dare then."
Phoenix didn't miss a beat, she wanted to beat Mickey at her own game. "Dare."
Mickey grinned as she chewed on her straw and then whispered to Jade who looked around before whispering back. Then they both gave a evil smile at Phoenix who winced, already not liking what she was seeing. It was too late to turn back though.
"I dare you kiss somebody."
That seemed innocent enough. There were two boys already at the table that Phoenix already knew so she said, "Fine. Who? Joey or Caesar?"
Both guys sat up, interested at the idea, but Mickey shot them down saying. "Nuh uh. You're not getting away that easy, girl. It has to be somebody you don't even know."
"Are you fucking with me?"
"Nope."
Phoenix sighed and looked at the others who wondered what she was going to do. Caesar cocked his head. "Are you in, Firebird?" He asked, smirking.
Standing up, Phoenix said in a huff of breath, "Yeah. Pick your guy, Mic."
Mickey gave a thumbs up in excitement before scanning the area of the cafeteria. "Ooh, that one." She said pointing. Phoenix turned around and saw her pointing at Curtis Miller sitting in the middle with others surrounding him. She then turned around with widened jade eyes. "The football captain? You're kidding, right?"
"How many times are you going to ask if I'm kidding or if I'm fucking with you? Damn! Yes, Phoenix, him! Do it already!"
Phoenix growled soft as she pushed off the table to head over and as she went in that direction she heard Jade say, "Make it a good one, Baby Girl." She rolled her eyes at them and in no time at all found herself in front of the football players table. Many of the players eyed her with appreciation but she ignored them and situated herself right in front of Curtis.
He blinked in surprise, scanning her body covered in a tight red top and blue jeans and after which he asked, "What's up, Ma?"
Phoenix looked side to side for teachers and when she felt the coast was clear, leaned down without a word, capturing Curtis' lips with her own. The sounds of shock from the football players was what Phoenix had expected, but what she didn't expect was Curtis putting one of his hands in her hair behind her neck and the other on her hip, bringing her onto his lap on the chair. His lips kissed her back fervent and Phoenix unsteadily melted into his arms, moaning slight.
She then broke the kiss, getting up quick and heading back over to the table where all of her friends were slack jawed in surprise. She heard the players calling out "Aww, that's it, Sweetheart? Where's mine?" Phoenix looked over her shoulder at Curtis, who was rubbing his chin slowly, his eyes burning with desire. She gave a shy smile before sitting back down and in the next second said, "See, Mickey? Ridiculous."
She shrugged with a smile, giggling.
