AW! What the hell?! That was clearly an out!" The two teens expressed their dislike of the umpire's ruling of the play as they watched a baseball game. Chaison had came home with Josh to stay for the weekend and to his knowing everything was just as it always was. But then as the commercial came on, the living room started to crowd as Luke, Cheyenne and the girls came in and stood in front of the TV. Chaison glanced from side to side in slight confusion. He didn't understand what was happening. "Guys...you're in front of the game." He said with a wide smile.
"We know, Chaise. We wanted to talk to you about something." Luke said with the same smile. "I mean if you have the time and all." Chaison sat up from where he was lounging on the couch. "Yeah! Sure, Luke. What's up?" Josh got up from the couch to join his family and that's when Chaison knew that this was important.
"Now, Chaison...ever since you have been in Josh's life, you have been a part of all of ours. I have never seen a more determined hard working boy, well other than Josh here but I'm biased." Josh laughed as his father continued. "I know that your situation with Mr. Kincannon isn't, well...ideal."
Chaison put his hands together, wondering what was going on. Even Avery and Destany looked excited.
Cheyenne took that moment to join in. "We want you to be happy, Chaise. You deserve that after all you have been through and so we got together and talked it out as a family. We came to a decision and..."
"We want you to come and live with us, dude!" Josh finished, his smile from ear to ear.
Completely taken aback Chaison stood up slow. "Wow...are you serious? You wouldn't mind?"
Cheyenne shook her head with a bright smile. "No we wouldn't, sweetie. We would love to have you here. You are practically part of our family." She stared at the young man who had made nothing but a positive impact in her home.
"I don't know what to say."
"It's completely your decision. We won't judge you if you say no. But you have to understand that once you are here with us you will be as if you are one of our children. We have rules and we have chores and they must be done and obeyed, no question." Luke said with his arms crossed casually.
Chaison nodded saying, "Yes, sir." and Josh asked. "So what do you say, Chaise. You wanna live with us?"
Chaison came around the coffee table. "What do you think? Of course I do!"
Everybody cheered and enveloped Chaison into their big group hug. Chaison had never felt so much love at once and he tried hard to hug each of them. A thought popped into his head and he looked at Luke asking, "What about my Dap Paw?"
"We'll talk to him together. You and I."
That was all Chaison needed to hear in order to continue his hug from his family. This was the best gift that could ever be given to him and he would be eternally grateful
