The music blasted a little too loudly in Hikaru's ears as well as the screaming and cheers of the students situated in the vast gymnasium. This was what everybody was telling was a pep rally; to cheer on and encourage the football players getting ready to play. To him, he was definitely out of his element, but Andrew went so he followed. Still...it was nice to see so many people smiling and having fun. Just like the fun he would have have back in Japan with Takumi and the rest of his friends. Andrew whooped and cheered next to him giving a thumbs up to Chris who was on the court with the other players.
Hikaru leaned toward his friend. "He's a good player?" He asked, motioning his head toward Chris.
Drew whooped again. "Hell yeah! The Warriors are going to be crushed! He's the star player." Hikaru nodded, smirking as Chris raised a hand in greeting when his name was called, drawing more screams if that could even be possible. Hikaru's eyes then gazed downward to see Aija and Shae walking up to find seats. He was about to raise his hands up to get them to sit next to them when in that moment, a brown haired girl came halfway down to stop them.
Aija and Shae looked up at Remy who seemed to ignore Aija right away before smiling at Shae. "Hey Shae...you want to come and sit with us? We have a pretty good view." Shae looked at Aija and smiled before saying, "Yeah, sure! Aija and I will be right up there in just a..."
Remy scoffed, bringing a surprised look to the two girls' faces. " I asked YOU, Shae. She can sit somewhere else." She replied, waving Aija away dismissively. Hikaru frowned as did Aija as Shae replied back, "What are you talking about? Why can't she sit with us?" Remy looked up to her friends; prissy and full of curled hair and fake tans as she answered, "Because she's not one of us, Shae. We just don't want her up there."
Before Shae could protest, Aija beat her to the punch. " I can sit wherever the hell I want to. Last time I checked...you aren't my mother, ma'am." Hikaru smirked at her comeback as Remy said with a sneer. "No...I wouldn't want to be a mother to an ghetto orphan like you. The idea of it is just insane."
"I'm sorry? What the hell did you just say?" Aija was stunned that she even knew the information of her background. Hikaru took a few steps forward, seeing Aija's fists clenching and unclenching. This was getting bad...
Remy crossed her arms with a smug look. "Yeah, everybody knows about how your mom left you as a kid cause she was a druggie. Bet you are just filling all in her footsteps, little druggie orphan..." She gave a little look of pity before saying to Shae, "Anyway...it's your choice. Sit with us or sit with the orphan." She turned, her curls flying behind her as she walked up the stairs.
Aija didn't miss a beat as she started rushing up behind her and Hikaru knew he wouldn't make it in time. She grabbed a fist full of Remy's hair and turned her around instantly punching her straight in the face and yelling, "Fuck you!!!" Remy screamed as she fell backwards onto the stairs grabbing her face in pain and all of the attention was turned from the pep rally to the girl beating down the most popular girl in the junior class. Aija was seeing red as she grabbed Remy's hair once more ready to punch her again.
"Bitch, how dare you?! You don't know me! You don't know where I come from! I will beat your good for nothing ass!" She screamed out. Before she could make the next blow, hands wrapped her waist and pulled her off of Remy. Aija screamed in rage as she watched Remy's friends come down to help her as teachers and other students made their way to the area.
"Let go! Let go of me!" She yelled to the unknown attacker. "Calm down. That's enough...you've made your point, Aija. You have too much at stake and you know it." At Hikaru's voice in her ear, Aija instantly stopped moving as they watched the teacher checking on Remy's face which would have a bruise the next day. Remy was helped up and when she saw Aija she pointed at her saying, "That animal attacked me!"
Aija tried to lunge at her but Hikaru held on tight. "Oh I'll show you an animal! I don't know how you know, but keep my mother out of your mouth!"
Remy decided to do the last blow saying, "I know because Ma'Kya told everybody and anybody about you." At Aija's and Hikaru's shocked expressions she said, "Yeah, she was blabbering it all loud during C lunch. So if you want to be mad at somebody...it should be her!"
Aija was frozen. Ma'Kya? No, it couldn't be...
Looking around where her best friend usually sat, Aija came face to face with Kya's smug face and she had her answer. Her heart constricted painfully but it did nothing to hide the blazing anger that surrounded it. This much was clear...
They no longer had a friendship.
