“Mmm Bernard is looking so good today.” Cathy said as she stopped by Alene’s desk.
Alene hummed as she flipped through the reports on her desk.
“Come on, you can’t tell me that you haven’t noticed.” Cathy mused as she watched Bernard talk with Jade.
I saw this morning when we kissed in the elevator. “He’s our boss Cathy. I don’t think we’re supposed to notice him like that.” Alene said as she focused on the report in front of her.
“There’s nothing wrong with looking. He’s so handsome not to mention funny, smart, and a joy to be around. Whoever gets him is really lucky.” Cathy sighed dreamily.
Alene placed her pen down as she looked over at Bernard. She tried not to stare at the way his suit fit against his body or his rich laugh that sent a shiver down her spine that she was careful not to show. She remembered that laugh in the elevator before she kissed him. She remembered those fingers in her hair, on her back, pulling her deeper into pleasure she didn’t know was possible…
“Alene! Alene! Can you hear me?” Cathy sang as she waved her hand in front of her face.
Alene snapped out of her daze and smiled at Cathy. “Sorry about that, didn’t get much sleep last night, what did you say?”
“I said he must be a fantastic person in and outside the office.”
Alene opened her mouth to answer when she caught Bernard’s eye. The grin he gave her didn’t match the heated look in his eyes. However, his face changed as he waved at her and Cathy. “Good morning ladies! Try not to work too hard today!”
“We’ll try!” Cathy called back as Alene nodded.
“Good to know!” Bernard gave another wave as he walked into his office.
“You’re right Cathy. I’m sure he’s a great person outside the office.” Alene smiled as she organized the receipts in front of her. She resisted the urge to follow him under the pretense of checking the accounts. She could wait until later when not many people were around. She wanted Bernard, but she could wait.
Besides, she did have work to do.
