I’m asked to write a poem about how I feel

As if that will clean the failure from my hand

My advisor, my friend my kingdom did he steal

My home, my life a place where I am banned

Every day, every night having to fight for a meal

A risk of punishment where I stand

My wife, my son, my daughter who’s fate I sealed

My blood, my tears, my failure dirty the land

The sky my wings long to peel

One day my smile will not be bland

One day my soul will feel real

Until that time arrives

I will continue to write how I feel
