The couples are Bernard/Alene, his sister Sofie with her mate Louis, his brother Raynard and his mate Alain, his sister Colette and her mate Elina, his brother Lance and his mate Garcelle, and last, but not least his sister Bijou with her mates Christian and Mikoto. I'll have to introduce their children in the next piece because it's a lot. Yes, it's normal for demon families to have a very big family. Whew alright now let's begin! This is for Prompt of the Day and the Olympic 1k race for Rusty's team. Go Team!

Michel laughed as he dodged a flying motorized airplane and stepped over a sleeping puppy. He walked back in the dining room and took a seat next to Bella. It was one of the annual dinners at Michel and Bella’s house. It was a time where all their children and grandchildren had time in their schedule to join them at the main mansion to eat and catch up with each other.

“Tell me how everyone is? How are things?” Bella asked as she sipped her wine.

“Everything is fine on my end. It’s just I wished Michel would go out sometimes. He worries me when he spends hours in the library without any breaks.” Raynard said with a shake of his head.

“Tell me about it Adam does the same thing. I get very worried when we don’t see him for a couple of days.” Bernard said.

“Well at least you know where they are. Eileen will go off to some party and I don’t know when she’s coming back. I know, I know it’s a party between friends, but sometimes I know friends sneak in things and that Kiu, Ice Demon, Vodka is no joke.” Colette said.

“It’s what I tell Marc and Pierre all the time, but they don’t listen. Their art is so wonderful, but those after parties can be crazy.” Sofie said.

“I tell the same thing to Chris. He always goes off and doesn’t check in. I just want him to be alright.” Bernard tapped his claw against the glass.

“I often question the guys Melanie brings home. I know she can take care of herself, but it’s the guys I don’t trust.” Lance sighed and took another sip of wine.

“I do wish Ikouto wouldn’t play her instruments until her claws ached. I remind her to take breaks and not miss many meals.” Bijou said.

Bernard opened his mouth to speak when Michel’s chuckles stopped him. Bella giggled as Michel started to laugh harder. He looked up when his kids stared back in confusion.

“Oh I’m sorry it’s just, well, now you each know what we went through when you all were growing up. Ray we thought you would never leave the library. Bernard I can’t even begin to name the number of times you and Colette caused trouble. Colette the number of parties you could jump to in one weekend boggled our minds. Sofie remember the “safe” experiments. Bijou how many animals did you bring to practice your healing spells. Lance I think you remember the impressive number of dates you had. Doesn’t that sound familiar?” Michel grinned and took another sip of wine.

Bernard scoffed lightly. “I wasn’t that bad. I mean sure I got into a few fights--”

“You had a group of people who ran the school with you, including spies in enemy groups and people who ran the lunch room while you were in class.” Bella said.

“I had to make sure those kids were safe. We didn’t share the same hour after all.” Bernard mumbled in his glass as Alene giggled next to him.

“I wasn’t that bad either.” Colette said.

“Remember the reason we took you out the all girl school.” Bella smiled over her glass.

“I, um, don’t remember…” Colette trailed off as she poked her food.

“I want to know. What happened?” Elina asked.

“Well, Colette had a system and formed a small gang that ran the school and took over the security as well. We had to take her out after the fire in the wing.” Bella said as Elina giggled and Colette frowned.

“Mom! I had to! They were going to burn my clothes. I just stopped them before it got worse.” Colette nodded before she took a bite out of her chicken.

“I remember that, that was pretty funny.” Raynard chuckled.

“Oh I remember when you defended the library.” Michel smirked.

“I had to! It wouldn’t be right to try and keep books from the next generation. I don’t care if I had to fight a bit it was worth it.” Raynard sat back in his seat with a smug smile when his outburst hit him. “Um…”

Alain laughed and patted Raynard on the shoulder. “It’s fine I know you had a good reason.”

Raynard gave his mate a relieved smile as Sofie giggled. “Oh I remember your protests those were very entertaining.”

“Oh yeah Ms. experiment on anything.” Raynard said.

“Hey! I didn’t experiment on anything just criminals and the like. I stopped now I find other ways to carry out my experiments.” Sofie huffed.

“How?” Raynard asked with a raised eyebrow.

“That’s confidential.” Sofie quickly swallowed some wine as Louis shook his head.

Lance chuckled. “Well, I didn’t have that many dates.”

“There was Lucy the Kiu, Shirley the Earth Demon, fellow Fire Demons Cathy, Sarah, and Emily, then…” Bella counted off her fingers as Lance waved it away.

“Alright, alright point made.” Lance grumbled as Garcelle smiled.

“You’re quite the ladies man. It’s a little human saying I learned do you like it?” Garcelle said.

“I like how it matches so well with the conversation.” Lance grumbled.

“Love your sarcasm dear.” Garcelle giggled.

“Thanks love.” Lance gave a fake smile and turned to his food.

Bijou laughed and pushed some hair off her shoulder. “You had quite the dating life if I recall.”

“I remember the mini zoo you had in your room.” Bernard said.

“I did not!” Bijou exclaimed.

“Yeah you did! You even had a baby dragon!” Lance added.

“If you mean Evan I had to save him. He didn’t have a family and was all alone out there. If I didn’t help him who would?” Bijou huffed and drained her glass. Mikoto and Christian shared an amused look before reaching for another piece of bread.

“Then you don’t mind the wild parties, experiments, or fights that your children get in.” Michel said.

“No, that’s different dad.” Bernard nodded.

“We know what’s out there so we can stop them.” Colette said.

“We can give them what they need to protect themselves. That’s why we have such advanced cell phones.” Sofie said.

“Most demon males think alike so it won’t be a problem figuring them out.” Lance said.

“We can help steer them away from bad choices.” Bijou said.

“Don’t worry they’ll be fine.” Raynard said.

Michel and Bella exchanged an amused look before they started laughing again.

To think they had the same conversation with their families just a few years ago. Michel and Bella knew they would be alright, but watching the similarities between their children and grandchildren never failed to amuse them.
