Notes: Just silly with no plot whatsoever. Dean's somewhere between 16 and 18.
The trio stared at the concoction bubbling over the fire and, as one, exchanged glances. “What is that?” Dean asked, as politely as he could.
“That is a very good question,” Russ murmured. “Bet it’s not edible.”
“I’ll take that one,” Dean whispered.
“That’s a stew,” Colin said, affronted. “It’s not like I had much to work with.”
Morgan took a cautious sniff. “It…smells all right.”
“Of course it does!” Colin said and ladled out a bowl for himself. None of them missed his slight hesitation before taking a huge spoonful. “Mmm,” he hummed loudly. “Delicious. Tastes like chicken.”
“I thought chicken was the meat in it,” Morgan said, eyeing him suspiciously.
Colin’s expression immediately turned innocent. “Of course it is. Did I say otherwise? My mistake.”
Dean shrugged at Russ’s look as he helped himself. “It’s either that or go hungry and Colin hasn’t keeled over yet.”
Morgan stifled a laugh at Colin’s affronted expression. “True. I’m starving enough I guess I can handle some mystery meat. Hit me.”
“Next time, we’re packing more dried meat,” Russ muttered but poured himself a bowl as well.
