Notes: I made it! I hit the number of malts I was going to hit for March Malt Madness! This is the eighth one. This takes place when everyone is a kid, pre-teen, and in the family years of Bernard and Alene. Enjoy!
Bernard sighed softly on his way home. He decided to take his care after the day he lovingly nicknamed “The Day From Hell”. It was as if everything that could go wrong did. His meetings didn’t end on time. He missed lunch. One of his demons was messing around in Daisuke’s turf and he had to nip the growing war in the bud. Albert was sick along with David, his advisor, so Bernard didn’t have his normal notes about the happenings around Coven.
Bernard was so happy when he could call it a night and trudge home. He entered the house, smiling at the explosion from Angelique’s lab. Alene ran to him with Adam and Kia in her arms.
“Hello honey,” She kissed his cheek. “Can you take them for awhile? I’m sure Angel has set another thing on fire and I need to help Claire with it.”
“Sure thing,” Bernard grinned. He pressed a kiss on top of Adam and Kia’s foreheads in turn.
Alene flashed a grateful smile before disappearing to the lab.
Bernard walked to the living room with an Adam and Kia who told him about their day. It was a mixture of words and baby language, but Bernard understood. He walked into the living room to see Castor and Orion breaking up another fight between Bello and Christophe. Enzi and Michelle was too focused on their game to pay attention while another explosion sounded from the lab.
Bernard laughed as he took in the chaos of his house.
It was great to be home.
