Summary: Zero loves that Adam loves books.
Word count: 518
Notes: More about Adam and Zero. I know I have to introduce them and how they hooked up, but these fluffy pieces won't stop. XD Well enjoy!
Zero watched Adam stare longingly at the books in the bookstore window. He adjusted the bags in his arms and walked over. They decided to go to the nearest grocery store for a few items. Adam liked to go in the bookstore and add a few more books to his collection. Zero didn’t mind. They had the money for it and he got a few cookbooks out of it. That was always good.
Zero noticed that Adam didn’t buy a book in the last few days. He knew it had something to do with a bet he made with Christophe and Angelique. It looked like it hurt Adam not to have a new book in his hand. Zero missed coming home to Adam curled up in a chair with a new book.
“See something you like?” Zero asked.
Adam turned to him then back to the window. “Yeah a new book in my series came out and I want it, but I would lose the bet if I bought a new book. I really want it though.”
“I can get it for you.”
“I couldn’t ask you to--”
“It’s fine. I don’t want you think I’m not treating you well enough.” Zero grinned.
Adam laughed. “I don’t think that.”
“I don’t want that thought to change anytime soon.” Zero kissed his cheek. “Pick out the books you want and I’ll buy them.”
“Really? I can have them?” Adam asked in surprise.
“Of course,”
Adam placed a quick kiss on Zero’s lips. “Thank you. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.” He gave Zero another kiss and disappeared inside the bookstore.
Zero laughed and followed Adam inside.
*~*~*
“I can’t believe you got me the first editions in Paday. There are so hard to come by.” Adam shifted through the books on the floor of his library.
“I asked the clerk and that was one of the last books in stock. Did I get all the books in the series you’re following?” Zero picked up one of his cookbooks and flipped through it.
“Yes, all of them. That way I’m still in the bet and I don’t have to wait.” Adam placed a book off to the side. He crawled over to Zero and slipped into his lap. “I’m glad my hobby doesn’t bother you. Some of my previous partners didn’t like it.”
“Why not? I like that you’re a bookworm. You’re a sexy bookworm” Zero wrapped his arms around Adam’s waist and kissed Adam’s cheek. “I don’t think I ever saw so many books outside a library before.”
“You should see my library at work.” Adam nuzzled his neck.
Zero hummed appreciatively and rubbed Adam’s back. “Will you show me?”
“I will, after this.” Adam brushed their lips together, sliding his fingers through Zero’s hair.
Zero moaned, pulling Adam close. “I thought you never did anything in your library.”
“I’m willing to bend a couple of rules.” Adam purred, nipping Zero’s bottom lip.
Zero closed the gap with a searing kiss. He leaned back, pulling Adam with him.
Zero would buy more books in the future.

Pleasant SurpriseTitle: What a Day
Toppings: Hot Fudge, Malt (Hot Fudge Week: Dear Diary), cherry (1st person narrative, journal entry)
Summary: David, one of Sofie's lab assistants, talks about his day.
Warnings: some disturbing imagery
Word count: 387
Notes: Playing a little catch up, but is going to be on time tonight (I hope). Now he works for Sofie, Bernard's sister, who has been mentioned in a few past pieces. She's a scientist and encourages Angelique in her scientific career. Here's one of her brightest assistants. Enjoy!
Dear log,
Today was the one of the most irritating days ever. First, I’m assigned new labs assistants who have no idea what they’re doing. If something did catch on fire, something exploded, and that is only the light offenses. My current experiments are pushed back, which means I have to go get them more food. It wouldn’t help if they died before I even started. I was so angry today I wanted to slam something against the wall. Preferably one of those new assistants, but I’m not picky.
I wish Sofie would stop trying to make me work with other people. She keeps talking about doing experiments that will help all communities. Why should I care if some angel gets sick? Is there a reason for me to show compassion to a Faerie on their last leg? Why do I have to work harder so some human or wizard or psychic? What have they done for me?
No one helped when my mom needed medicine. I’m just glad my dad stepped up and got her the things she needed. However, no angel, wizard, or faerie helped. Now I’m suppose to help them. Yeah right. I learned how to do things on my own they should too. It’s so damn infuriating, working in this lab sometimes.
At least I can watch Sofie. She’s easy on the eyes. A few of the new lab assistants are too. I’m glad Sofie hires attractive people or I would have sent my resignation years ago. I don’t know what Sofie has planned, but I hope it’s something soon. I know she’s distracted by Bernard’s wedding, but that will be over soon. I don’t even know what his wife sees in him, the brute, but he’s my boss’s brother so I have to be nice.
I guess.
I’m glad I could vent to you. I doubt if anyone would listen to me without saying ‘m complaining or something like that. ‘M gonna go and get some food and wash it down with some wine. At least those assistants are good at following orders. They can’t do anything else right.
I’ll have more to tell tomorrow, since I have to work with them again. Yes, I’m rolling my eyes. I’m gonna get that drink now before I lose it.
Till next time,
David
