Can I paint the wall myself?; Megan and walls (idek)
“Are you sure you want to have this room?” Ma asked, raising her eyebrow and glancing at the bathroom. “You know that you’ll be sharing a bathroom with Tilly.” Megan glared at her mother, flicking her auburn hair back.
“Can I paint the wall myself?” was Megan’s only reply as she examined the wall.
“Why?” Ma asked, her brow furrowed.
“I don’t know. I just want to do it.” Megan shrugged and smiled at her mother. “Amanda said she’ll help.” She promised with a shrug. “I want a computer with the money we save.”
“We’ll discuss that later.” Ma sighed.

Lauren stared at her phone. “You can’t paint your dorm room!” She gasped in surprise. “I mean, I’m sure that’s not allowed.”
“What colour do you want?” Megan repeated calmly, the static humming of the phone not overpowering the slight impatience in her voice as she stared at the colours of paint.
“What happens when Dana finds out about this?!” Lauren pointed out, her voice slowly giving in to the idea.
“She won’t mind.” Megan promised with a confident smirk which Lauren couldn’t see.
“Fine. Purple.” Lauren sighed.
“Blue.” Megan compromised.
“Lilac.” Lauren countered.
“Indigo.” Lauren chuckled.
“Deal.” She agreed.

Tilly smirked as she walked into the apartment. “Red?” She asked, examining the wall opposite the door. Megan grinned.
“Yup. I thought I’d go for something different.” Megan shrugged. Tilly glanced at her with a raised eyebrow.
“Something different which would burn the eyes out of the back your head?” she asked, sighing and sitting down on the sofa. “You know, Ma asked about you yesterday. I mean, where did you spend 4th July?!” She asked, her sad smile already on her lips.
Megan got up and tested the wall. The pain was still wet. “I painted the wall.”

“What the fuck are you doing, Megan?” Liam looked annoyed.
“What does it look like I am doing?” Megan asked, wiping her face on her sleeve. Liam glanced at her in curiosity.
“Are you crying?” he demanded.
“No.” Megan grunted through a nasal voice as she glanced up into the sky, blinking rapidly. Liam shrugged.
“If you’re not crying, what are you doing?” He demanded.
“Drawing things on my tent with mud.”
“There are a lot of productive things you-“
“Julie’s leaving.”
“There is absolutely nothing you should be doing other than painting your tent.” Liam corrected himself.

The apartment was small but neatly furnished. “So this is where you live?” Megan asked, raising her eyebrows at Jenifer. The young woman grinned and lightly kissed Megan.
“Yes, this is where I live.” She agreed. “Do you wanna see my bedroom? I painted the wall all by myself.”
“Really?” Megan raised her eyebrows in surprise.
“Yes. I painted it green and it has my favourite quotes on it.” Jenifer explained with a grin. “Why? Does it surprise you that I paint?”
“Nope.” Megan grinned and kissed her new girlfriend. “Walls have ceased to surprise me.”
