Goodness, this was absolutely lovely. I'm new to this community and haven't been following along with everything yet, but I really felt like I knew these characters and could understand what they were going through. It was very real, and I felt for Joanna.

Really wonderful job!

Fatimah really, really, really doesn't like Hugh. Partly becuase Farid really does. Someday I'll write her POV on this, and I hope it'll be more sympathetic. Thank you!

Fatimah's pickyness made me laugh so much. She reminds me of my Jewish friends grandmother a bit :P And oh, Joanne and Hugh are so cute :)

Oh, poor Joanna, going through all that trouble and not receiving a word of acknowledgement, and then having to drop that bomb on her mother. As if the situation wasn't already painful enough...

It's good that she has Hugh and that he's so supportive.

Joanna's... pretty used to it, because a lot of it has to do with the way she grew up. But living with Hugh is changing her perspective on what she deserves.

Thank you!

Aw, this was very bittersweet. The whole mother deal was very frustrating and it was infuriating that Fatimah wouldn't acknowledge that anything was wrong. I felt really sorry for Joanna. ):

This was wonderfully written, well done!

She... had reasons for it. They weren't very good reasons, but she did have reasons. I'll have to write her POV, see if I can't make her more sympathetic.

Thank you!
