Alan got lucky, I think, in that he neither expected happiness nor got overly spoiled. And then of course meeting his wife helped a lot for a lot of different reasons.

This is just heartbreaking, and so beautifully written. The way it affected all the kids in different ways...god, I feel for all of them. Nicely done.

Wow, great piece! I love how you handled all the different POVs and it was way interesting seeing how everyone ends up and how the affair affected them. Also the end was just perfect-I think that might have been my favorite part.

You write really amazing children, and to watch them grow up- this story felt a lot longer than it actually was and I mean that in the best possible way :D.

Wow. That's all I can really say. Wow. I feel so bad for Ruth and Joanna, mostly because I can relate to those characters the most. This is a beautifully written story.
