Awesome! Kairn and Sethan have such a long and eventful history together, and I love them reminiscing and just being so very them, with all the squabbles and banter but still being there for each other when they need it.
Sethan & Kairn have pretty much usurped what used to be the story of Lyssa and her daughter, but I can't complain. I think I've come to love the two of them more than any other characters I've ever had.
I struggled a little with the idea of Sethan being even remotely sentimental, but he's got to be pushing 50 by now and he's had a few goddess-free years to relax, so I guess I can let him mellow just a little
Oh this was wonderful. I've always known that Sethan had a heart buried deep within him and that Kairn always meant something to him and it was nice and sweet seeing him admit that.
I'm pretty much in love with this piece. These two are some of my favorite on RaTs and I have such a freaking soft spot for these kind of relationships that I was like GUHHHH (in a good way) this whole piece and...yeah, just awesome.
THE END OMG. I like that none of Sethan's acknowledgments went over the top but for Sethan they were obviously pretty huge. (And Sethan was still kind of being a dick about Shasa, so...) Yes, they are totally an old married couple at the end of the day. Even if it's not a very healthy relationship for Kairn, I can't deny I enjoy it ;)
They are such an old married couple (hell, they're practically an old married couple when they're kids). I'm glad it wasn't over the top because I really struggled with that.
I think they've become my favorite characters I've ever written and it makes me so happy that they get all the love they do.
This is awesome! I think you made the prompts fit very well and it's easy to see why these two kept together in the end despite everything that had happened. Kairn's right, I think it would be very hard for him if he didn't have Sethan, all things considered.
I'm glad it worked, because I was really nervous about this piece, what with Sethan being sentimental and all. I couldn't see any way for my canon to end without them being together.
