She's an unreliable narrator a little bit, but she's not far off in her estimation of her mother-- Melanie's mother had like six kids and raised them all on her own very well, so she finds it hard to understand why Melanie can't just do the same. I think lonely is a really good way of putting it. Abandoned works pretty well, too.

Thank you.

Oh, wow. Melanie doesn't really seem to have a very sympathetic support system, does she? I feel her despair so clearly and I hope things do get better for her.

She doesn't have much of a support system at all, honestly. Things might have turned out better if she had, although I think it still would have ended the way they did.

And yes, they do get better.

Thank you.

God, you can just feel how tired and desperate she is. Poor Melanie.

Well done.

Yeah. She needs sleep, and a lot of hugs. Thank you very much.

Oh, God, poor Melanie. Nothing but sympathy for her, she must be so lonely and frustrated and ugh. It's not her fault, she's doing her best. D:

She really is trying. I feel so bad for her here- she feels like she's always reaching, but never quite measuring up. Thank you.
