Wide light brown eyes watched the television screen, absorbed by the scene that lay before him. The aliens looked around for a moment before pointing silently at a grave marked by a small tombstone. Right away the aliens began to stick their long arms into the dirt reaching down deep to find the object they had flown down to Earth for. When they finally found success, one pulled back his arm, holding a armbone with a bright silver bracelet hanging from the hand.

Chandler's mouth opened as he whispered, "...Wow." Even at the tender age of four, he already found unique subjects that he loved to observe and learn about. This week, it was all about aliens. When he watched those extraterrestrial beings with the wide black eyes that knew what they wanted without even saying words, he felt like he was there with them; like he knew what nobody else did and that he was right beside them flying in the space saucer. He never wanted this show to end.

"Ahem..."

Chandler blinked from his fantasy and turned his head over his shoulder to see his parents standing there looking at him with comical expressions. Phoenix had woken up at midnight to unknown sounds from the first floor of the mansion. As a result, she had roused Chaison from his sleep as well and Chaison had followed her, almost begrudgingly, grabbing his bat in the process.

They had no reason to think anybody was awake as late as it was, so they thought the next worst thing. As they neared where the sound was and recognized it as the television, Chaison put the bat down and they entered the living room to see a little person way past his bed time watching definitely something he shouldn't be on their big flat screen.

Chaison crossed his arms around the same time that Phoenix put her hands on her hips. Chandler gave them a wide eyed stare as he put his fingers in his mouth; something he did everytime he knew is was in trouble.

"Son, what are you doing up?" Chaison asked in a calm voice. Chandler didn't answer for a bit, afraid to look away form the screen but also afraid of not looking at his parents.

"Daddy, I not do anything. I just watchin the aleens." The fingers in his mouth, made his words appeared muffled and Chaison couldn't help but chuckle. Phoenix shook her head as she walked up to her little boy. She frowned at the show and said, "It looks like you're up past your bedtime. So you know what that means?"

Chandler stared at his mother waiting for the answer. "It's time for you to get back in the bed." Chandler was beside himself, his heart pounding. "But, Mommy! Whos gonna help them get the hoomans?" Phoenix smiled as Chaison came and scooped up his light as a feather son in one move. There was a scared human voice on the the screen and the mother of six turned her husband around to start walking toward the twins' bedroom.

"I don't know, baby...but I'm sure they understand that you have to have rest. Now, let's get you back to your spaceship, ok?"

Chandler nodded and yawned out, "Okay."

Phoenix watched Chaison take their son out of the living room and headed back in to turn the tv off. Just as she got there, the seemingly peaceful aliens shot a lazer beam right into the helpless human that interrupted their mission. She grimaced as the man exploded all over the place and shook her head again.

Yes, it was time to put parental controls on the television now. She turned the show off and jogged out to catch up with her boys. Chandler looked at her, blinking sleepily. She stroked his face with a soft loving smile.

"Mommy?"

"Yes?"

"Can I be a aleen for trick or treats?"

"I'm sure we can work something out, handsome."

"Okay."

The child fell asleep on his father's shoulder and the two parents smiled at each other, not knowing what they were going to do with their little scientist.
