Awww, Summer. I like how you wrote this; it gets across her desperation so well. Nice job.

She is a darling, isn't she? Poor thing's dealing with an overload as well as being lost in this one, but she has her mommy and God help anyone who tries to hurt her, because they will have to go through Gail.

Thank you.

I really liked this, especially the way Summer describes the paintings. Very realistic.

Thanks very much! I did a surprising amount of research for 900 words, really, but I'm glad it paid off.

Oh man, this was really intense. I felt so bad for Summer, and the way she kept focusing on the painting even after she got so hysterical at the museum and such was jarring. Well done! :)

Well, the painting is nice! And her breakdown was not nice. She likes to think about things that are nice, so she focuses on the painting.

Thanks very much!

Ooooooh Summer. D:

The 'Is that not the same thing?' just killed me. While I don't have Asperger's I will say this hit really close to home for me. It's enlightening and liberating. :3

Thanks for sharing. :D

I don't either, but a bunch of my close friends/family members do, so I like to think I can get fairly accurate. I'm glad it helped you, anyway.

Thanks!

I find the lack of contractions throughout this interesting. Is it because the session was transcribed this way or does Summer not use contractions?

Starry Night is a great painting.

Starry Night is gorgeous. And Summer doesn't really use contractions as a child. She picks up the habit later, in her early adolescence, but as a child she spoke very formally. Just part of who she is.

Thank you.

that's what I assumed, just wanted to ask if I was right about that. I know it's more or less a common thing and I don't think I notice a lot of times in normal conversation but it really stuck out in this because it's mostly Summer talking.

Yup. She definitely does have that formalism. Good catch!
