Story: And We All Fall Down

Summary: My first entry. Yay and this will be in Chapter 2 of my story, And We All Fall Down. It's a flashback of William's first battle he has ever been in. I think i'm going to make another writing journal specifically for my original fiction. Physical descriptions and such will be placed there on my stories. I'll let you know when I do that! A very brief use of the word, relates to both the plane and the huge army of men.

It was a band of 20 or so men, rushing through the jungle with looks on their face that were hard to describe. To put it simply; they look scared shitless.

Sweat glistened across their foreheads and their shaking hands reached up, wiping it away then quickly placing their hands on their guns. No time to waste doing anything but gripping that weapon for dear life.

My lips were chapped and dry but I didn't dare reach for my canteen, not when the enemy could be right behind that bush, waiting. I hated the thought and shut my eyes tightly, wishing it all away. If only when I opened my eyes again, I could be back home with Brooke. Holding her, kissing her. But she reminds me of why i'm here in the first place. I couldn't stop them, couldn't save her. But I could do better here, I had to.

The whiz of a bullet scared me out of my thoughts and trembling, I gripped my gun, held it close to my face and just waited.

"Shit!" I heard a familiar cry and noticed it was Brayden. I wondered if he was hurt, but i was sure Riley would be right by his side. The two were best friends. Friends, wow, so there was some sort of familiarity, some sort of humanity, in the world of war?

My eyes squinted as blazing heat and light flash across my face. We stepped outside of the forest, into a vast, far, near gargantuan plane of small bushes and shrubs. My eyes adjusted to the sun and focus and that is when I saw men. So many men, running towards us with their guns cocked, their eyebrows knitted, their feet steadfast, their mouths opened in cries of power.

They are nothing like us, they're strong. Or maybe, they're just nothing like me.
