Summary: Getting up early is so hard on cold days.
Notes: Kev was the only person I could think of when I first saw the Apfelstrudel prompt. Fluff.

Meeting in the early morning were always a special punishment for Janna. She hated getting up early when the bed was warm and she knew that as soon as she got out of bed, it would get cold and she’d regret it. No criminal was worth the effort and today she was feeling like staying in bed as long as possible.

Kev who was fast asleep had his arms wrapped around her tightly, holding her against his chest. He had come to bed late, probably too absorbed in his work to notice just how late it was, and Janna knew that he’d postpone getting up as long as possible. He always got up to keep Maya company while she got ready for school but as soon as the girl was out of the house, Kev would go back to bed for a few more hours of sleep before he did the work around the house and then started his own work later in the day. It was a stressful schedule that at times would drive Janna crazy but these days she was so busy herself that she had no energy to complain.

She wriggled her way out of Kev’s grip slowly, not wanting to wake him. Without even opening his eyes, he shifted behind her and tightened his embrace instead of letting go.

“‘t’s too early to get up,” he complained, his words all jumbled together and Janna almost giggled.

“I have to get up, Kev. I have this meeting at 7.30 and I need to get there in time.”

She hated the idea of having to get up even more when Kev was like this, holding her close. It was the most intimate moment they had had over the past few days since the Massachusetts Bureau had started to track down a child molester Janna had been tasked to profile. It was rewarding to finally head an operation like that but at the same time, it was tiring and took up most of her day.

“Stay,” Kev mumbled, burying his nose in her hair and Janna sighed, looking at the alarm. It was 6.14am and if she hurried up and didn’t shower or eat breakfast and if there was no traffic at all -- something that was never the case -- she could be at work in about forty-five minutes. That meant that she could stay in bed a little longer, dozing.
