Clearly Dean needs to learn to swim right now (...no I am not considering writing Carrie teaching Dean to swim fluff, not at all). Up until that point, though, I snickered at this piece a lot. "So people can walk it" got me giggling especially, silly Nate.

Clearly he does! I have no doubt that he gets right on that as soon as they get safely back home. (WRITE IT PRETTY PLEASE WITH SUGAR ON TOP). I had to giggle as I wrote it too. Then, as these things do, it got momentarily serious.

Sage will never change :P

The conversation and Nate in particular made me giggle so hard at this, wanting to appear so piratey when he isn't and in the end being intimidated by Sage.

No, Nate really doesn't :D He's good at it but he and the whole crew aren't very traditional!

LOL! Planks can make good diving boards too, you just need to remember to stick the rope ladder over the side first ;) Seriously though, anyone on a ship really neads to be knowing how to swim, so someone should teach Dean. Very cute :)

Hehe, this is very true! I suspect that's what this particular plank is usually used for :P Dean definitely needs to learn and I'm sure will soon.

Haha, one of the things I love about your world is that you can have plank-walking one minute and then flipping each other off the next. Linguistically, it's a very refreshing world! I like Nate here, he's so bouncey and cheeky. :)

:D Thanks! I have a lot of fun mixing what is sometimes a more 'current' action/traditional with some older things. Nate is really enjoyable to write when he's not accidentally sticking his foot in it, so it was nice to write something here where he's more himself.
