it must have been REALLY shitty days for Paul. Firebird's offer to take that guy back into the warehouse so Paul could hit him a little more.

Paul's pretty on the level the majority of the time, but sometimes you just gotta vent. And Firebird's all about finding ways to keep her employee's stress levels down... *insert eyeroll here*

There's nothing more important to Firebird than the wellbeing of the people she loves. If that means finding some schmuck for them to beat on to relieve their stress then she will provide it!

Lol, I kind of twistedly love Firebird offering to let Paul take the guy back to the warehouse to beat the crap out of him some more. It says a lot about her, really: the people she cares about are important, other people are not. This is great.

That's exactly what I wanted to get across with this piece! Firebird will do anything for her loved ones, and everyone else is a tool to accomplish that.

“Would you like to take him back to the warehouse with us?”

I lol'd. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have, because I have the sneaky feeling that it's a terrible thing happening, but that was funny. As was Firebird delicately attempting to fathom Paul's emotions while beating someone up. Great job.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the Blaze's twisty sense of humor a little bit funny.

PS - I LOVE your icon. Bookgasm, indeed.

Black humour! :D

Bodyguard/best friend mixes are a trope I first fell in love with reading the Artemis Fowl series and these two have good character chemistry; I loved the dialogue, especially Firebird's. Definitely felt sorry for the street-pusher though... XD

I'm not gonna lie, black humor may be my favorite kind of humor! A little twisted? Yes, but it's just so much fun... ;)
