I really liked this! The Facebook screenshot is unusual (and totally looks like a screenshot; well done you), and the chat was intelligable while at the same time actually sounding like a chat. Great job!

Thank you so much! Doing the Facebook shot was a total whim and I had no idea how to use the program when I came up with the idea, but it was lots of fun. :D Dean and Sage are completely the kind of people who would type more formally in a chat program than others do (right, Casey?)

Dean and Sage are definitely the kind to type more formally. Dean's not exactly a chat expert :P and Sage appreciates language too much. Plus, it would be hard for me to not write formally :P Chat log was hard enough without chat speak!

Well, I had already made Sims of the main six DW characters and it was more fun to take my own pictures for the icons than to manipulate other people's. :D Thanks much! Hopefully Dean will have an excellent time.

The facebook screenshot is awesome! XD It's making me want to make one, but no.... that way madness lies.

All of the profile pictures for the different characters are uber cute. :D It makes me miss Sims... I totally want to make Sim!Ashdown and co, but I just can't risk another uber meltdown. Boo. Plus, I have a feeling that it would take a buttload of CC for accuracy, haha.

The little conversation is awesome, although now I am so curious about Dean's family. I thought Sorin was his dad! D'oh! Sage's chatting was very amusing and quippy, I could so feel the warmth between them!

Will we get to see this partay? ;)

Ahahaha it was pretty mad of me to attempt. Sometimes a little madness is fun.

I made Sims of the six main DW kids and it was a lot of fun. :( That's really too bad that you can't play the game anymore, but looking out for your computer will ultimately be a good thing. If you ever DID manage it again, though, you'll be able to find the CC you need for sure. There's tons of great period stuff. *knows a girl who's doing a Regency legacy and another who's doing a Victorian legacy, and has heard of some medieval attempts*

Oh no, you were right that Sorin is Dean's dad. Sage is the daughter of Sorin's brother, Vlad (and Renie's mother is Sorin's sister). We decided for the purposes of this story that the three of them were going to be full siblings (in NIEE, Sorin is Vlad and Ani's half-brother as seen here). Sorin and Dean are estranged from the rest of the family for reasons that will be explained later

Lol, NaNo sleepiness, I'm really sorry! Apparently my brain farts itself to death if I don't get enough sleep. XDD I read back through it and yes, it makes total sense and I've heard Dean call Sorin 'Dad' about a billion times so... gah, there isn't even an excuse for that, I somehow got this mad idea in my head that Sage and Dead are siblings. XDDD

If I ever get a laptop that doesn't explode at the thought of Sims, I will almost definitely have a go. :D I've seen some fantastic CC out there!

Sorry about the misunderstanding with Dean and Sorin - I realized after I read your comment and reread where it might come across the way it did to you :) Basically, he is sneaking online to Facebook to chat with his cousins, but his Uncle Vlad, Sage's dad, is nuts, and that's a big part of the reason they haven't gone to his family for support - and is why Sage made the comment she did about them 'escaping'.

Hope it wasn't TOO confusing and this makes sense :)

Simply excellent!

Everything flowed naturally, organically, as if the characters actually existed and all you had to do was copy and paste their chat log. I could hear their voices, their excitement, bashfulness, the energy of anxious youth. This is my introduction to the story, so I really don't know much about his background, but Dean is adorable! I like him both as a character and as a person and would like to know him better, just based upon his interaction with the scene you presented here.

That's not easy to do. You have awesome talent. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you very much! The story bits are entirely Casey's (she gamely went with it when I told her to write the story that went with the screenshot). Dean really is very sweet :D There are some more pieces about him in the Caramel section of Casey's index.

Just adding my thanks to Marina :) Sage and Dean have a great relationship in the main narrative and it was fun to show a bit of that here too! I also agree, Dean is definitely adorable :D
