Oh, wow. This is a really painful read, especially the end where Sorin is trying to apologize to Eva. Or something, I'm not sure what he's trying to do, but I know he didn't achieve it and they both went away hurting. Great job.

Sorin's mostly trying to make sure Eva's not going to give Dean a hard time, but...he does feel very badly about it and I think a small part of him was hoping she'd forgive him or at least accept his apology. Which she won't even think of for several years. Thank you very much! We're looking forward to developing this further.

What an awkward and painful encounter. And poor Eva, realizing that her daughter is in such close proximity to a man she hates. But good on her for not forcing her daughter to end her relationship, because she knows what happened isn't Dean's fault. It's hard to be that rational when looking into the face of someone you hate and fear.

The only reason Eva was able to make that decision was that she was in a similar situation when she married Carrie's father--her mother liked Cliff, but wasn't sure it would be a good idea for them to marry, and HIS mother didn't like Eva at all and actively tried to stop them seeing each other. It also helped that she had spent a lot of time observing Dean and knew he was a good kid. She's not happy, but she knows interfering will hurt both the kids. Thanks so much!
