The slow process of recuperation you describe here is beautiful, I don't know much about these characters but I wish I did. It sounds like she was in an abusive relationship or was a rape victim or something similar. I love how the trauma dissipates eventually, and their first sexual encounter was a nice touch. :) It was a good read.

I can link you to the first piece with them, that goes into Jessica's history a bit more, if you'd like?

She was in three very manipulative and abusive relationships a few years before she started seeing Penn. This is only the second piece I've written with them, but I've completely fallen in love with the characters.

I'm really glad to see I'm doing a good job with their relationship as it evolves! Thanks so much for reading!

Yes please for that link. I'm really enjoying reading the stuff on RaTs, even though it's taking away precious writing time ;) it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make!

Here you go! http://community.livejournal.com/runaway_tales/3777346.html

And yes, RaTs is SUCH a time stealer, which is not good when I'm in the middle of mid-terms, haha. Ohhhh well.

I think I'm in love with Penn and Jessica. There's something unusual about them. She's so fragile and needs time to heal and he's just there for her and I think you show really well how that works out for them. Especially because it's not only him giving but also her making compromises like in that last part.

Good luck on your mid terms.

Ah, thank you! Luckily, two of my teachers decided to forgo mid-terms, so it's not as stressful as it COULD be, but I should still be studying. Whoops.

Haha, I am totally in love with them, too. They have quite possibly passed up Oz and Jakob, and Chloe and Kurt for my favorite couple in this entire story.

Thanks for reading!

Eeee, aw, man, these two are so cute, especially Penn making these constant little adjustments to try and help her, and Jessica making similar little adjustments to both recover and to make it work. It's adorable, and heartwarming, and really... reassuring to read, in an odd way. I'm so glad they both worked so hard at it, and that it did work, because they're so adorable and they fit so well together. Well done.

Penn and Jess are on the same level of Oz and Jakob, to me. I love them all to pieces, though I can say that Penn and Jess don't end the way Oz and Jakob did.

I really can't wait to write more with Jessica, especially with her and other characters in the story, like Jax or Oz. I also want to write how she met Faith (who in turn introduced her to Penn).

Thanks so much for reading! <3

Jessica says that that is a reasonable reaction, but that he is off limits. Sorry. ;)

Thanks for reading!

This is so terribly sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. It's great to see Jessica getting better and the way these two grow together--they fit nicely with a little shift. The proposal section is my absolute favorite.

I think writing the proposal section was my favorite part! It was going to be longer at first, but it just always seemed better when it was kept shorter.

Thanks for reading!
