LOL AFTER Tie my hands AND Rough me up if it makes it more convincing I WAS LIKE "I WONDER IF SHAYNA IS JUST EXPECTING ME AND SLY TO SAY SOMETHING..."

A little background - since I haven't written any of what Kairn's been up to - he's been raising Sethan's son and keeping him hidden from the necromancers for the last 12 years - returning to them, not at all willingly, only recently. They see him as a traitor and he's only still alive thanks to Sethan's protection.
Thank you, and I will be happy to keep bringing you plenty more of Sethan :)

Sethan's son is Shamino - I think you've only likely seen him a handful of times - as a newborn and as a grown man in my only caramel piece.
The gods' chosen ones (like Sethan and Rune) are not random occurances and there is some amount of prophecy here and there as to how things will be aligned. The necromancers had some insight (that I've hinted at here and there - with Sethan's comments about no woman being foolish enough to come near him, and Kairn's anger at Sethan and Shasa's relationship) that if Sethan has a kid it will be BAD (for the necromancers) - in what way, I won't get into and what Sethan thinks about the whole business I don't want to give away - so when Shasa gets pregnant, Kairn runs away with her to keep her safe. He has not been in touch with Sethan for 12 years because he thought he wanted to kill Shamino too.
Hope that answered enough without giving away too much.

Sethan's far more of a manipulator than a brute, sometimes (like here) he's flat out helping the good guys for his own reasons.
thanks :)

Fantastic. I love the Seth/Kairn interaction. Kairn is slowly winning my heart.

thanks :)
I shall have more of them coming!

I'd only really count Sethan as truly a bad guy. Tristan is a good guy all the way, and I suppose Kairn is somewhere in a grey (or would that be milk chocolatey?) area

did you go to the index? It has things in chronological order and then further separated by characters. I'm sorry I get confusing. I have a ridiculously large cast and a habit of jumping all over the timeline as I post!
