Title: Getting away
Summary: A dog demon with no recollection of his memories finds a chance to run away and he takes it.
Notes: Meet Zero he's the second protagonist in the story. This is before Adam finds him and names him. This is when he runs away from the leader of a cat demon community in Coven that he's forced to work for. I'll put his back story up a little bit later.

He ran as fast as his legs could take him. He knew if he was caught he would be put in solitary. He didn't like solitary they put him in a tiny room that nearly crushed his tail and his ears. If he didn't run away now he would never get a chance again. He hoped his friends were able to follow the plan and get away. He ran through the streets of Lucard, the capital city of Coven, pushing people such as a female cat demon with purple hair out of the way. This summit was the only time he wasn't in his restraints since the person he worked for liked to show him off like a trophy. He glared in disgust at the thought. He wanted to forget it all and figure out the bigger things on his mind.

Why did he have gaps in his memory?

Why was he bought like some sort of  trinket?

Who were the women in his dreams?

What was his name?

He didn't have answers to any of those questions, but he hoped to get some soon. He never wanted to go back to that place again. He didn't like the cat demon family who "employed" him as a servant. He wasn't a servant he was a slave. The maiden of the house only used the title servant as a way to try to let him keep some sort of pride. He didn't know what was so honorable about being ordered around and treated like dirt. He couldn't speak out or he would be reminded about his silence. Another thing he hated about his "job". He waited until Joseph, the master of the house, was distracted before gnawing at his restraints with his fangs. Once they were loose enough he waited until Joseph disappeared behind the meeting door to break out of them.

With his restraints gone he took out the few guards that were there before jumping out the window of the conference building. He hurt his ankle a little, they were on the twelfth floor, but he was fine. He could handle it later when he was in a safe spot. He ran in a hotel he couldn't catch the name in his rush. He ran up to the front desk. The woman, a fire demon with off black hair, smiled kindly at him.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes I'm looking for an available room."

"Where is he?"

He stiffen at the sound of the guards he couldn't shake off in the crowd. The woman at the desk sensed his discomfort. She quickly went through the motions of settling him in and giving him a room. She handed him a key, "Your room is 615. Please enjoy your stay."

He nodded, "Thank you," He ran towards the elevator hitting the button quickly cursing when he saw the guards out the corner of his eye. He forgot about the elevator running towards the stairs instead. He took them three at a time moving as fast as he could. It jumped to four when he heard the door to the stairs bang open. He threw the door to the sixth floor open running down the hall. He found his room trying to calm his shaky hand so he could use his key. He had to get inside and hide. He wouldn't go back. He couldn't go back. He smiled in triumphant when the door clicked open. He ran inside slamming the door behind him as he looked for a place to hide. He knew it was a long shot, but he ran in the closet. He sat in the corner underneath a snow white fur coat one of the patrons left behind. He grabbed his tail willing it to stop wagging as he tried to calm down.

Please...please let my magic still work. He thought frantically placing his hand on the floor. He felt the room become cooler under his touch. It was going slower than normal, but at least it was something. Cat demons didn't like cold weather of any kind. He just hoped the guards chasing after him would think it's a room registered to an ice demon. He stopped his magic when he heard knocks down the hallway. His heart beating frantically in his chest his mind reeling Please don't find me. Please don't find me. He placed his tongue between his teeth as a last resort. He wasn't going back. He was never going back.

He pulled his knees to his chest burring his face in them. His breath coming out in deep puffs as he gripped the tag on his collar. The only piece of his past he was able to obtain. On his tag was the word "Omocial" which meant unique in his language. He knew someone special gave it to him, but he didn't know who they were. His musings left his mind when the door opened. His eyes widened in fear. They found me well I'm not going out without a fight. He thought stretching his claws. Whoever opened the door closed it back quickly. He heard a few rumbles and muffles sound of curses outside the door. He wasn't going to go out there and see what was happening. For all he knew it could be a trap and he wasn't going to let that happen.

After awhile he heard nothing no sounds, no curses, no noises of any kind. He leaned against the wall trying his hardest to calm his trembling hands. He made it this far now he had no idea what to do next. He didn't know where his friends could be. He didn't know if they were safe or if they successfully got away. He could only hope they were alright and he would see them again. He closed his eyes he would think of something. Once his body finally calmed down and he could think straight. He took a deep breath enjoying the first break he's had in a long time.

Here's another fic from a different story I'm working on. This one is realistic and deals with Helen and Nate. Best friends who fall in love with each other. I wanted to try my hands at an old favorite.

Title: New Feelings
Summary: Nate comes to realize his new found feelings for his friend Helen after watching his rival talk to her.
Notes: In the fic Nate is eighteen while Helen is sixteen. Nathaniel Anderson and Helen Robinson both come from rich families, but they don't let their lifestyle dictate their way of life. They've been friends since they were children, but feelings of friendship turn into love. How will they react? It's another idea I'm playing with at the moment. This will be my first time writing an interracial story, not my first time writing romance. I hope this won't be too confusing without the back story.

Nate watched Helen talk with Richard Mc'Neal. One of the few people in their school to annoy the crap out of him. He wasn't jealous that he was talking to his best friend. He wasn't jealous of the way she smiled when he talked to her because he saw that smile all the time they were together. He was jealous of the way he shifted close to her and she seemed not to notice. He tried not to get mad. Helen didn't notice when a guy was hitting on her. Normally Nate found it cute, but this time he wanted Rich to stop talking to her. He frowned in confusion as he leaned against his locker. He didn't know when these feelings started, but now they didn't seem to be stopping. He was going off to college soon, but he didn't feel right leaving Helen in school by herself. He shook his head Helen is a big girl she can take care of herself.

You want to be there to take care of her and to shoo away guys like Richard.

He shook his head again. He hated these randoms thoughts in his mind now. They started happening after Helen came back from her family trip. Now he couldn't get them out of his head. He didn't get it. It was only Helen his friend since they were kids. He met her first before anyone else. They went through everything together. His mother's teasing, her mother's over protection, their fight against bullies, and everything in between. As they grew older he didn't mind when guys flirted with her because that was normal. Helen was cute, sweet, and shaping up quite nicely. He would know, he took a good look at her when she wasn't looking. Another thing he was doing alot lately. He didn't understand that either. He blamed it on his hormones since that made the most sense. He quickly stopped his musing when Helen walked towards him with Richard in step.

He took a breath Don't get angry in front of Helen. Just pretend he's not there and you'll be fine. He pushed a strand back as he turned to Helen. He waved, "Hey kitty how are you?"

Helen laughed, "Nate I told you not to say that nickname too loud here."

"Why? Is that a special name for you?" Richard asked.

"Yes it is, it's my name when we hang out together." Nate said. Helen looked at Nate in surprise. She never heard him explain her nickname like that before. She noticed he was angry, but trying to keep it under control. She looked between Richard and Nate biting back a giggle. She had an idea about Nate's change in attitude, but kept it to herself.

Richard regarded Nate with a level look before turning to Helen, "Well, if you ever need help with math you can always come to me."

"Yeah if you want a remedial person teaching you the wrong methods." Nate said smirking.

Richard glared at him, "I don't remember asking for your input Nathaniel."

"Well I decided to add it Richard. I would hate for Helen to fail her class because you're teaching her." Nate said.

"Listen we all aren't math prodigies Nathaniel. That's why I told her she can ask me for help if she needs it." Richard said.

"Um Richard it's ok Nate pretty much helps me out with math. Although if you want to help me out with speech then I wouldn't mind." Helen said.

Richard smiled, "Sure thing I don't mind helping you with that."

It took a lot for Nate not to bring up the fact that he stumbles in his speeches worse than he does, but he decided to leave that alone. He could be the bigger man after all.

Helen smiled, "Great, thanks Richard I appreciate it."

"You're welcome Helen, well, I have soccer practice I'll see you later. I'll see you on the field Nathaniel." Richard said with a sneer.

"Can't wait Richard," Nate said with a wave.

Richard glared at him again turning towards Helen with a smile. He waved at her before walking down the hallway. Helen waved back before turning to Nate. She giggled, "What was that?"

"I don't know what you mean." Nate said opening his locker.

"I think you do. I didn't know you didn't like Richard." Helen said.

"No I do like him I just get annoyed whenever he walks around. I also feel the need to beat him in anything I can. It's nothing big." Nate said gathering his books for home.

"If I didn't know any better I would say you were jealous of him." Helen said smirking.

Nate scoffed, "Yeah I'm jealous of some wannabe ladies man who has the I.Q. of a fruit fly. No you know what that's an insult to the fruit flies. He has an I.Q. of a worm, but even that's an insult to the worms."

Helen laughed, "You are so jealous of him. Why? Because he asked to help me out with math."

"No I'm not jealous. I'm just mad he offered his mediocre skills to you that's all." Nate said stuffing his books in his bag. Not to mention the fact that he's trying to get in your pants.

"Wow you really don't like him. I never knew," Helen said rearranging her messenger bag. Nate could see the strap pressing against her chest out of the corner of his eye. He pulled his eyes away back to the poster of his favorite band in his locker.

"Yeah we've had this rivalry going on since eighth grade. It started when he tried to beat me in tennis and it hasn't stopped since." Nate said.

"Man that's long," Helen said.

"Not as long as your long standing rivalry with that girl Samantha in your English class." Nate said closing his locker.

Helen frowned, "Hey she started it, stuck up little girl who thinks she can out read me. I'll show her."

Nate smiled She's pretty hot when she's angry. Why did I just think that? "I can't wait to see the long awaited cat fight to happen."

Helen shook her head, "You and everyone else I know even Diane."

Nate laughed, "That's so she can open her betting pool up again."

Helen laughed shaking her head, "Of course, well, are you sure you're not jealous of him?"

"Of course not, why would I be?" Nate said.

"Good because I'll study math with you any day." Helen said smiling.

Nate smiled, "I'm glad to hear it." There's that weird feeling again. What is it? He pushed a loose strand of his hair back the motion not going unnoticed by Helen. She looked down at her shoes, He's so cute when he does that. No, Helen, not this again.

Helen shifted from foot to foot as Nate messed with his hair. They looked up at the same time giving each other a sheepish smile.

"So, um, ready to go?" Nate asked.

Helen nodded, "Yeah let's go,"

"Ok, you don't mind waiting in the stands do you?" Nate asked pushing away from the locker.

Helen shook her head, "No I don't mind. I like watching you play."

Nate felt a warm feeling go through his body as he walked down the hall. He pushed that feeling back clearing his throat, "I'm glad I don't bore you."

"I don't think you could ever bore me Nate." Helen said.

She doesn't know how hot that sounds. "Good thing to know." Nate said.

It just gives me an excuse to watch you take your shirt off to wipe the sweat off your forehead after you play. "Yep, hey can I come over and play video games later?"

"Sure, I hope you don't mind my mom wanting to see you again." Nate said holding the door open for her.

"Nope I like your mom Nate. She's nice and really funny." Helen said walking through the doorway.

"Of course since she loves teasing me about you." Nate said rolling his eyes closing the door behind him.

Helen giggled, "You know she means nothing by it. She's only kidding."

"Yeah I know it still doesn't beat that it's annoying though." Nate said shoving his hands in his pockets. He looked over at Helen who started laughing. He grinned I guess it's not too bad.

He started talking to her about her day. The odd feeling from before going away. He hoped it wouldn't come back anytime soon. Because he wasn't jealous he had no reason to be. He just didn't like seeing Helen waste her time with losers who saw the outside, not bothering to look on the inside. That was enough reason to not like the guy, well enough reason for Nate anyway. He could tell Helen later after he finished practice.
