After she slipped from between the bed sheets, Adrianna gathered her clothes in what she hoped was a quiet manner. Glancing to the bed behind her, and the still sleeping occupant, she wasn’t sure if she should feel ashamed and guilty or... Actually, she wasn’t sure what other options she was supposed to have. The early morning Walk of Shame wasn’t familiar to her.

Moving to the adjoining bathroom to freshen up and get dressed as fast as she could, Adrianna avoided looking at her reflection. She had caught a glance of what must have been a hickey along her collar bone and didn’t want to see what other evidence might be waiting to be discovered. Finger combing her hair before she pulled it back into a messy ponytail, she let out a heavy sigh as she sat down to pull on her shoes.

“What were you thinking?” It was whispered, filled with self-loathing. It was one thing to sleep with someone you had barely known a few hours. It was another thing entirely to sleep with a friend’s sister after she had only known a few hours. Especially when that friend was Sarah. “Stupid, stupid, stupid.”

Adrianna resisted the urge to bang her head against the tile floor in frustration and instead focused on getting out of the hotel room without waking up Angie. She succeeded at that task, at least, and only realized that maybe she should have left a note when she was a few blocks away from home. “Stupid,” she muttered again, shielding her eyes from the sunrise as she fumbled for her keys. It was bad enough that she would have to explain where she had been to Andy and Oz. They would be sympathetic, at least. She hoped. But to have to tell Sarah... There would be no sympathy there, she was certain.

Leaning against the front door, she shut it as quietly as possible, and slowly slid down to pull her knees to her chest. She sighed again, and leaned forward to rest her forehead against her legs, letting the shame and guilt finally wash over her. It was official. Not only was she an idiot, but a heartless bitch, to boot.
