Awwww. This is all sniffly and sweet, even though Eleazar is a bit cranky at the beginning. I totally agree with him on international travel, btw: it sucks.

It really does. I like being in foreign countries but I absolutely, totally despise getting there. It is WAY too stressful. I'm glad you liked this! :)

It really does. The preparation and the security, and it's just gotten worse since 9/11 (this piece is in May 2001, which was right before). I'm glad you liked it :D

Aww, poor Elie and poor Claudia. I love her forever for calling Eleazar Elie too! And international travel can totally be a bear. The line about stopping at the cementery really got me for some reason.

They do it just because they know it annoys him. *smirk* I struggled with that line so much. I wanted to convey the loss without saying "Ever since his mother died blah blah blah" and I'm glad it works.
