Summary: Oriana discovers a secret her cousin has kept for seven years.
Notes: Because pockies don’t leave room for a whole lot of background, at this point in the story Oriana has obtained the diary Joy kept while on the run, and is reading it unobtrusively to find out why Rupert can never see it.
The first time she read the words, she almost dropped the diary into the water. Once she had relaxed, she read them again, eyes going wide.
Derek was still alive. Joy had lied to Rupert, and he had to have believed her, because if he had known, he would have tracked the boy down and taken him away from his adoptive parents.
Oriana drained the tub and got out, head spinning. She had to get the diary out of the compound before anyone else could find it. After that, she could figure out what to do with Joy’s secret.
