12:45 pm.
I kept walking. This was not going too well as Emily had planned. I knew I wasn’t as smart as my twin, but it was best to give me credit for escaping the school in the first place. But Emily wouldn’t even answer my calls. It sounded like her cellphone was out of reach.
The fields in the countryside were wide and large. I was still wearing my spy gear, the leather jacket and high boots. All I had brought, aside from my phone and MapWatch, was a few important gadgets. I didn’t even bring any lethal equipment. Darn it, I was in hurry to get away from the fire.
Overhead, the sun was shining brightly. I had been walking for ages in this strain heat. My MapWatch got broken; my gadgets all drained. I needed to charge these babies out before I head back on the road. But where in the countryside could I find electricity? There weren’t even barns or famrhouses nearby! I couldn’t believe this! This was a disaster. I knew I should have waited for Emily before I started making a run for it. But what else could I have done? The INS wanted my medallion, and for crying out loud, it was really mine in the first place. I had to get away. Gee, I never thought being a world-class agent was this tough when everybody else had turn their backs on you. I was telling the truth. I had the medallion since I was a little girl, and Emily knew that too. She was the only left who believed in me.
I kept walking. This heat was killing me. Oh, great! My phone just broke. Wasn’t this the perfect day?
Now, according to my half-empty MapWatch, I should head south to San Diego. I was bound to find Emily in that place. My MapWatch continued to beep slowly at my destination.
Thankfully I installed a chip into Emily’s spy gear during training last night before the fire. Something told me that Emily was looking for me. See, she could never resist being away from me!
