Summary: Mia might be unprepared for everything she's strived to achieve.
Mia shuddered as she stepped into the frozen citadel. The pervasive scent of death invaded her mouth and nose. She wished she didn't have to breath. It seemed here, where there was only decay, her magic faded. The balance between light and shadow was nonexistent here. It made her soul ache. She wondered if the light she drew on came from the lives of those around her, absent as it was from this forsaken ground. The army moved into the first cavernous hall, slowly at first, then with greater confidence as more of their number filled the hall. Her mouth felt dry. She was responsible for their lives. She'd pushed so hard to be here, to be ordained. Was she truly ready? The only answer she could find within herself was she had to be.
Also, bugger me but amaretto should not be a tag on this piece.
