Story: Water Lilly
Summary: Lilly all of a sudden wants to be an entrepreneur. Ian finds out he’s dating a rich girl.

“GUESS WHAT I DID TODAY!!” Lilly burst through her front door screaming at the top of her lungs. She had a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon that she set on the table next to her. Then she slammed the door shut causing a picture to fall with the frame breaking into several pieces. She looked over at it with wide eyes, but shrugged it off as she was in too good of a mood to care.

“Eh, he’ll get it.” Lilly mumbled to herself throwing her keys on the table and looking around the place. She knew Ian was there somewhere. She had great news for him. And a mess for him to clean up.

Lilly stumbled through different corridors of her home, peering around corners looking for him. “I hope he’s not at work..” She continued to speak to herself. “Oh, I know where he is!” She randomly exclaimed leaving the bedroom and heading downstairs for one of the bathrooms. She had two, and had given one to Ian.

She ran up to the newly painted blue door, as the house was being remodeled. Lilly had the urge to run in but stopped herself as she remembered getting chewed out for such behavior before from Ian. So she gave a small knock at first. Nothing. She rolled her eyes, huffed and began pounding both fists on the door.

“God dammit, Lilly. Is that you?!” Ian yelled from inside as he was completely startled from the sudden banging noise.

“Who else would it be, stupid?” Ian sighed at her response. He dried his hands and went over to the door. He opened it half way, still clinging to it, and his body hung there in the gap staring at her. “What are you doing in there?” Lilly shot him a sly look, trying to imply he was up to no good.

“I was cleaning until you scared the shit out of me.” He confessed.

“Good thing you were in the-” Ian pushed the door completely open and put a hand over her mouth before she could blurt out her awful joke.

“What. Do you want.” He took his hand away and folded his arms, impatiently.

“I bought that diner!” She yelled, extremely excited. Ian’s jaw dropped and his arms dropped to his sides in shock.

“You could afford that?!” Ian was not fully aware of how much money Lilly had on her.

“Sure. I have tons of money.” It was true. Lilly was loaded.

“What do you mean, you have tons of money?”

“Just that.” She reached into her pocket to show him a few hundreds she just happened to have on her. Ian automatically snatched it from her hands and held it up to the bathroom light to see if it was real. “Can I have that back or do you need it?” Lilly was taken a back by how interested Ian was in her finances.

Ian looked over at her and tried to give it back. Lilly refused shoving it back in his direction. An evil smile grew on Ian’s face that didn’t last long. It disappeared as he started to feel ashamed for having such a high amount of money. Ian was not completely used to this lifestyle that Lilly took for granted it seemed. She could see he wasn’t pleased with it anymore. So she had to cheer him up.

“Let’s celebrate! I got booze. I want to see what you’re like when you’re drunk!” She grabbed Ian by the wrist to lead him into the kitchen. Ian took a seat at the counter with a naturally confused look on his face. Lilly’s actions were always pretty confusing for him. She had taken off to get the drinks and raced back into the kitchen with them.

Ian watched in amazement as she opened every bottle to pour them into a large pitcher. It looked like it was hand made and also very badly hand painted. She shoved all the bottles to the edge of the counter. This bugged Ian’s neat freak side to the core.

“Could I.. throw these away?” He asked as she turned her back to him to get glasses from the cabinets.

“No, stay put.” She set the glasses on the table and filled them evenly to the top. “Okay, we’re going to make a toast, to my new business and my career in food.” They clinked glasses and drank after Ian gave a small chuckle to the idea of Lilly having her own business.

“Oh, I almost forgot.” Ian hummed at her in between sips. “There’s something in the living room I kinda wanted you to clean up for me.”

“Of course.” Ian put down his glass and proceeded to get up. Lilly sat down her glass as well so she could run over and hug the life out of him first.
