I had to go the sappy route. There's enough abuse elsewhere in the relationship and enough evidence of sappy feelings even in canon that I just had to.

I'd still like to see your take, cause I'm guessing Kairn on top was not at all what you were anticipating.

Lol, yes, in my world, it's totally Sethan/Kairn more than Kairn/Sethan, but you know how I roll, my bottoms usually have the upper hand anyway, even if they're not on top, so to speak. ;)

Now I have no fear of being too sappy, at least...I will try not to go emo either. That would be no fun.

see, I don't equate top or bottom necessarily with power either, and I've had this habit of making my female characters rather dominating, and as canon Sethan really doesn't seem all that interested in sex in general, I figured he could go either way and of course still be his dominant self

1) Imagining them in an actual bed together is much more mind-boggling to me than imagining them like, doing it in a closet or something. WHY THIS IS, I COULDN'T TELL YOU. It seems more domestic maybe? lol idk, moving on actual comment-comments

2) “I was thinking about your problem. I could, perhaps, draw them a nice diagram, clarify things a bit-” Haha, this is so Sethan though! All things considered it seems like you did a fine job of keeping them in character.

And Kairn too: “My plan now.” He’d meant it to be forceful, but the statement came out as more of a squeak. \o/

3) So you totally did an awesome job of this. It was funny/sweet, hot, and you handled the pronouns beautifully :D bravo, would read more in a second!!!

2. That was actually the line that started the whole thing. And half the struggle was keeping them remotely in character, so I am so glad you approve!

3. I didn't actually find prnouns to be so bad! What I do have trouble with is that there is not a single word I like for the male genitalia. It is frustrating. I feel like a prude or something for never blatantly labeling, but it is a matter of not being able to choose one.

I am still not going to be left alone about them now, am I?

As someone who writes almost exclusively gay males I gotta say this was brilliant. Not trashy, not totally in your face, quite romantic and steamy. I actually took note of your lack of directly addressing male genitalia and at first I was almost wondering if you had missed a word but quickly caught on. Considering in my writings I'm right out there with names to call it as well as what to call where it goes... It's refreshing to see a take that isn't so gritty, raw, and full of hard edges.

In fact I've been stalling for about two or three weeks making a post here because I have an excessively long continuation of a previous tale of mine and there's a particularly waaaaay graphic moment. Seeing you totally go for the gusto and do it gives me encouragement. :3

I tend, with sex scenes in general, to be more about the dialogue and character interplay than the body parts. It's definitely a habit on my part to avoid a lot of graphic description, not so much because I am squeamish about it or anything as because that's not the important part of the scene to me. Sex is a physical act, but it's also the most vulnerable, intimate thing two people can do, and they way they approach each other is full of soooo much potential for developing their characters and relationship and all, and I like to have fun with that.

I also have to say I started this months ago and have gone back and picked at it more times than I can count! (and with much harassing from both Olram and Falootin to get it done already) So no worries on taking awhile!

The fact that body parts aren't an important part of the scene to you is really interesting. :3 And your reasons are very sound! For me... I write from the perspective of what's important to the characters. Particularly the story I'm doing for this comm has been in development for a stupidly long time and the main characters are very physically motivated. A lot of their intimate moments center around body parts, i.e., getting in, getting the goods, and getting away before they're busted and less on the actual relationship. Of course the pair that I'm focusing on for this comm live in a state of such complete dysfunction it's a miracle they stay together. It's the 'we're so screwed up but were perfect for each other' theory. XD

Perhaps this motivates me to write a couple that's actually emotionally connected instead. That would be an interesting challenge. XD I'd hope I could pull if off as well as you. :D

That's a good point, and yes, the characters interests/desires are at least as important as the author or reader's, and I certainly do take them into account. Of course, now that I think about it, it's probably a matter of my own perception of sex and relationships somewhat influencing the sorts of characters I tend to write.

Um. I saw that this was Sethan/Kairn, and I remembered pretty much everybody heckling you to write it last night during Bingo, so I decided to see what the fuss was about.

This was my first time reading pr0n, but, wow, um, it won't be my last because this was pretty hot. And Sethan and Kairn were funny and cute and also hot. I was considering going back in the archives and reading Knights from the first entry, and this pretty much guarantees I'll look back (and not for the porn should you have any, but, you know, it's not exactly a detractor).

They're not actually a couple in canon - they're just incredibly close friends (with an awful lot of subtext that makes them perfect targets for slashing) And I've been bugged for a long time to do this with them.

There is a bunch of other porn in there - all het - mostly towards the bottom of the list, cause I seem to have this thing for non-canon...

And there's lots more Sethan & Kairn antics - especially in the whipped cream

Eeeeeee, a great post to greet my return. :B I loved the descriptions here and the back and forth between the characters. It was definitely the dialogue that made this exchange so memorable.

Oh man, join the crowd... they're not a couple! I actually have way too much fun with the subtext in the canon stuff. I think I'm getting to the point where even I wonder if Sethan might really, deep down, have a thing for Kairn. Kairn is quite insistant he's straight though.
