Summary: Lilly and Ian newly together; Ian discovers more of Lilly’s insane ways. But can he put up with them?
Lilly wondered into a back room of her new house. In the room was a large chest of clothing. Next to that a wall length mirror leaning up against the wall. Lilly began ripping drawers open on the chest. She dug out different garments and threw them around on the floor until she found what she was looking for.
She held a tan shirt with buttons and sewn in rolled up sleeves. It had a small pocket on the front left breast. She smiled at it dearly, put it over her shoulder and began looking for the pants that went with it. After she found those horribly tan khaki’s, she reached into another drawer for a belt to complete the ensemble.
Kicking things around on the floor she took off her shoes to undress so she could put on this ridiculous costume. Pulling the shit over her head, she looked into the mirror to straighten her hair out with her fingers. Then she strutted around only in a way someone would do if they thought they were all alone.
But Lilly was far from being all alone. Ian came walking down the hallway in a very casual manner. He almost didn’t stop but he caught a glimpse of movement in this back room. He took a few steps back next to the corner to peer in at her reflection. His face automatically turned to confusion as she went about her gussying up. She smooched at herself in the mirror and giggled as she reached over for the very last part of this outfit.
A hat that would make her look like she was ready to explore the unknowns of the amazons. Part of Ian wanted to laugh as he saw this, but he couldn’t. He completely taken a back by why she would be something like this or even what she was about to do.
Lilly finished picking at her self, straightened her hat and turned around to march out of the room. She bumped into Ian, scaring the life out of him for a moment. He gasped and backed up a few steps.
“What are you doing?” He shrieked.
“There is a snake in the back yard. I’m going to go get it.” She continued past him out the back door. Ian turned around to follow her as he was somewhat afraid she’d hurt herself messing with the local wild life.
“Here it is!” Lilly ran up a hill into some bushes. She picked up a stick and began poking at the snake who shook it’s tale to an amusing sound. This delighted Lilly even more. “He’s making sounds! You have to see this!” She waved Ian over. He slowly came up the hill and stood several feet behind her. “What are you doing? You can’t see it from there.” Lilly continued to wave at Ian.
“I’m not getting near that thing!” He waved back at her in a ‘hell no’ expression. Then he folded his arms, squinting at her, to try and condemn what she was doing.
“It’s just a snake. You’re going to miss it.” With that, Lilly reached her arm down at the hissing creature and snatched it up by it’s neck. Her hand was firmly around the back part of it’s aerodynamic head. She carried it towards Ian whose jaw dropped. He held his hands up to say ‘no’ and was trying to walk backwards down the hill. He lost his footing in his moment of panic. Ian tumbled down the hill, scrambled to his feet and ran towards the back door.
Lilly just continued to walk towards him, still holding the snake who was consistently pissed off, shaking his tale in hope. Ian pressed his back against the door. He took deep breaths as his eye widened from the snake coming closer and closer in the palm of her hand.
“Get that thing away from me!” He screamed, reaching for the doorknob behind him.
“He’s harmless!” She yelled back, stopping only a foot away from Ian. They stood there at a standstill as Ian cringed. “Don’t you want to touch it?” Lilly grinned. Ian shook his head ‘no’ and held his hand out to keep her at a distance.
She let out a sigh and looked into the snake’s eyes. They seemed to have a blank stare to her. Lilly completely ignored it’s anger. To her it was just a harmless play thing. She looked back up at Ian.
“Are you scared?” Ian nodded to her in a bit of relief. He thought she might actually have a tad bit of sanity in her that would make her stop this nonsense. No such luck. Lilly just laughed at his fear and moved in on him. Ian was too frightened to open the door. His sweaty hand kept fiddling with the door knob to get inside to no avail.
There she was finally, with a deadly snake in her hand, right in front of Ian. His worried eyes looked over as he was turning his head to shy away from it. Once more it shook it’s tail making Lilly giggle.
“It makes the coolest sound!” She squealed. Ian had his mouth agape in disbelief. Lilly leaned over and kissed him in her awful timing. “I think this proves we made it as a couple.”
“What?! YOU’RE HOLDING A RATTLE SNAKE IN MY FACE. YOU THINK THIS IS THE TIME TO BE ROMANTIC?!” Ian almost reached over to swat at Lilly but she held the snake up in defence, stopping him. Ian groaned and huffed at her. Lilly just continued her giggle fit at him.
Ian let out an unimpressed sigh, calmly grabbed the door knob and turned around to go inside. Lilly just shrugged. For a moment she cooed at the snake. She decided to put it down where it slithered back up the hill to it’s home, or perhaps another home where Lilly couldn’t bother it.
Lilly took off inside to find Ian who was curled up on the living room couch. He looked up at her, then recoiled. She got down on her knees on the floor next to him so she could look up at him. Her eyes got huge and filled up with longing.
“Can we get married?” She asked. Ian snapped out of his ball to look wildly at her random question.
“...what?” It came out so calmly as Ian was so tired of being surprised by anything Lilly would do.
“I think we should get married. It would be fun. That’s what I think. I wanted you to know that.” Ian was some what flattered. He reached over and took off her hat. Then he patted her on the head like a lap dog. She stuck her tongue out, panting to go along with the bit. She stopped short, “I think we’re here.”
“Where?”
“Somewhere that it’ll take a long time to get away from.” Lilly slowly climbed up into Ian’s arms, making herself at home in his chest.
“Okay...” Ian rested his chin down on her head where they stayed for the rest of the afternoon.
