A/n: Eh. A drabbleiffic look at an AU-ish future for the two main characters. Minor spoilers that you should already know if you've read anything about anything about this story before. Also, possible major-spoilers. Two of 'em. But those might just be AU material.
Edit Edited for tags and heading. And minor spacing issues.
Joy
Macy found joy in Nikki, her lover, soul mate, and friend. Macy knew that no matter what life threw at her, Nikki would be there to stand by her side. They had been to hell and back for each other and for their families, so Macy knew that their love, their bond, was true.
They had decided, together, to adopt two baby girls, May and Laura. Macy found joy in her two daughters, May and Laura. She found it in their smiles, in the bright sunniness that May exuded and the playful pouter that was Laura. They both reminded Macy of their mother, Nikki, in a way. Laura represented Nikki’s playful site, the side of Macy’s lover that would wile the night away with an unproductive pillow fight, and May represented Nikki’s grateful side-the part of her that remembered being emotionless and cold, and was thankful everyday that she was not.
Macy found joy in her family, as splintered a family as they were. Through all that had happened to Macy, she always had a part of her that still loved her parents, her sibling(s). No one and nothing, not even having her soul fragmented and reformed, could take that away.
Macy found joy in her life, in her freedom, and in her love…life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
So. Babies or no babies, that is the question. If there are babies, it'll be purely epilogueal. Probably.
