We saw it coming; the hot muggy feeling outside and the sky darkening in rare form. So we hurried to finish working and after closing the ranch for the day, put the horses away in the barn so they could be sheltered and dry. As soon as we left the building, it seemed like the clouds just broke open and a light shower began to pour on our heads. My hair soon began to dangle on my shoulders, holding most of the water. Chaison's own hair had a sparkling sheen of mist on it as well and after I giggled at it, he smiled and took my hand so that we could go in the house. I shivered, feeling the frosty air conditioning and hurried to turn it off. Chaison locked the door then watched as I started going upstairs and I smiled down at him.

"You staying down here, baby?"

"I'll be up there in a bit...my bag is down here."

Nodding I went quietly up to my room, shaking out some of my hair to get the lengths somewhat dry. The house itself was quiet; Mic had went with Josh and his family for lunch. Not that I minded...I loved a quiet house and even more, I loved a quiet house with a calming rainstorm. My drenched jeans and top came off and were replaced with a white tank top and light blue pajama shorts. I yawned, feeling my eyes blinking slowly over and over-rainstorms were always like lullabies to me. The mattress moved slightly as I flopped down gently on top of it, moving the comforter and sheet out of the way for more space for me and my guest.

Chaison came in and was now only in his jeans, scratching behind his head. "Man, I love rain." He mumbled, walking to one of my windows to look outside. I got up and stood beside him. Redbird Ranch was now a muddy patch of land as the transparent curtain of moisture fell upon it. The clouds were now a bright gray as sunlight filtered through them. In my opinion it was beautiful. "Me too...the smell, the sound and the feel of it." To prove my point, I opened the window and reached out to feel the cool droplets on my fingers. Chaison smiled soft down at me then pulled my body around to place his lips softly on mine. I wrapped my arms around his waist, pecking him over and over; my heart singing in happiness from being so in love. Too bad my eyes weren't singing.

"I'm a bit tired..."

"You want to rest huh?"

"Yeah. Come lay with me."

"Will do."

I soon found myself laying back on my bed halfway on Chaison's chest with his arm under my stomach and over my back lightly. His other hand was softly caressing my damp hair. I did the same to his. We were content to lay there, listening to nature's lullaby and I was content to let Chaison hold me. Everything was coaxing me to sleep: The rain, my soft sheets, light neighing of the horses in the barn and finally the deep breath of Chaison sleeping.

It was all too much...

I let my eyes close and finally let my body relax.
