Story: The Strange and Awkward Mishaps of Dahy, Xephos and co.
Summary: Stargazing.
The thing about Dahy was that mostly he was there, but sometimes he seemed to flit just on the edge of Xephos’ sight, which really he shouldn’t have been able to do, being more noticeable (to Xephos’ mind, at least), and so Xephos set out to pin him down.
He found Dahy on the roof, gazing at the sky. It probably didn’t count since Dahy wasn’t doing the flitting thing anymore, but since he’d been looking all over the place for Dahy for longer than he would’ve liked, Xephos wasn’t up to objecting, particularly not when he could sit down. “Say,” he said, seating himself as comfortably as he could, “what’re you looking at?”
“The stars,” Dahy said, in a way that suggested his mind was elsewhere.
Xephos had rather thought that that was perfectly clear. “Sure,” he agreed. “Any in particular?”
Dahy looked away from the stars for a moment, then looked back, shaking his head. “No.”
“Oh. All right, then.” Xephos leant back, and began to trace constellations.
After a few moments, Dahy got up and left. Xephos didn’t follow.
