Now that Neil was back, Logan found he was even more wound up then he had been the two months the other boy had been missing. He'd been cracking slowly, as it was the small amount of common sense he possessed had been the only thing keeping him from losing it completely.

Now though? Now he was shattering apart. The sky was falling, and Logan's little world had come apart at the seams. When had everything gotten so messy?

He found himself searching for someone to blame, and it was far too easy to find a target. After all, hadn't Jack known all along that Neil was fine? Hadn't Jack been the one who helped Neil leave him behind? He'd always known that Jack was full of secrets… but this was too much.

He'd thought Neil was dead. He'd thought he'd been left forever. A million gruesome scenarios had haunted Logan's dreams, and the whole time Jack had just sat there, pretending to care. Pretending to be some sort of hero.

He wasn't hard to find, Jack tended to end up at the Chapterhouse at least every other week, sometimes more. All Logan had to do was turn up and wait, dropping by every night until finally their paths crossed. He wasn't completely stupid though, he knew he couldn't start a fight in the middle of the bar. Not unless he wanted security or the Peacekeepers to break it up before it even started. No, he'd have to be a little more cunning than that.

There was something about Logan's empty eyes that was probably a touch unsettling, but he managed a smile as he approached the captain, taking his drink right from his hand and knocking it back in one go.

Saying hello was so overrated.
