Donna...it's not your fault. There's no pattern to when or why people leave here. It just happens.

She left you a note; she clearly hasn't been sent to some horrible place against her will. Maybe she's someplace better. Maybe you helped her just enough.

You did your best. That's all anyone can ask of you.

Maybe. She did seem to think she was supposed to end up somewhere else.

I don't think I could have helped her that much. She made a point of reminding me she was entirely unrepentant last I talked to her.

...But she wasn't actively trying to kill anyone, so who knows!

Just keep hoping that she's where she's supposed to be, then. That's the most anyone can do.

And you're right: she stopped pretending to be me. She stopped going around, hurting people, and maybe that was enough.

Oh... just before Meredith left, she recommended me a Stephen King book to read. It just happened to be a very unsettling one, which I'm sure she did on purpose.
